I just went back and looked through the deleted posts on this thread, and honestly, I have to side with Apple and Lay's on this one. It’s just not right to try and discredit people simply because they don't live in a specific country or because they aren't participating in other similar threads. As long as someone is being polite, staying on point, and following the rules, they absolutely have every right to post. That said, since those specific posts weren't strictly about the main subject, they really should have been moved to the Off-topic section or just deleted, which is exactly what the moderator ended up doing. I really hope we don't see much more of this kind of thing moving forward.

And just for anyone feeling a bit confused—Tourism boom has never moderated the Politics section.

Beyond that, my take is that political discussions should be completely removed from the Tourism board. It shouldn't be an issue if, in very rare circumstances, someone mentions something tangentially related to politics in a couple of posts without sparking a massive debate, but it’s a whole different story when you start seeing the kind of intense arguments that usually happen over in Off-topic. Maybe there would be less friction and better quality conversations overall if we didn't run into situations where posts criticizing political bias at a museum are getting wiped out in one place, while radical views that don't belong anywhere on this forum are allowed in another—especially not in a section dedicated to tourism.

I actually got a permanent ban from you because of that exact behavior—do you even remember? 🙂

Try to be more accurate next time.

You handed him a permanent ban, which I personally overturned because I felt it was unjustified, and so did the supermod in charge of the Tourism section.
