Issues upgrading from Windows 8 to Windows 10

So, I’ve had this laptop for about six months now running Windows 8. After dealing with it for this long, I finally decided to upgrade to Windows 10 because this version keeps throwing errors at me constantly, especially when I'm trying to install or even just run essential programs.

I’ve seen the reviews for Win10 and it looks great, so I want to take advantage of the offer while the free upgrade is still an option. I downloaded the installation file, but it isn't working. It hits a snag, which is clearly shown in the attached image.

If anyone actually knows how to fix this, please let me know because Microsoft is ending the free upgrade window in less than three weeks. Thanks in advance.

Which version of Windows 8 are we talking about? Please tell me it's not Enterprise. If it is, you aren't getting that upgrade for free.

Unfortunately, it is Enterprise. I don't get why the upgrade isn't working then, and if it's not possible, why even offer it?

Look, Enterprise is strictly for big corporations.
Your best bet? Back everything up, boot from a Windows 7 or 8 disc, and run an upgrade to Windows 10 just to snag the key. Once you've got it, wipe the slate clean with a fresh Windows 10 install and activate it using that key.
