I started watching this thing, but I ended up turning it off after about twenty minutes. It just wasn't really my thing—pretty dull and hard to stay engaged with.

The Coen brothers.Hey.They actually wrote about Garfield. Just my luck. 😛

Yeah, I figured.☕Just one pile of crap on top of another.

If you’re actually looking for a total waste of time, go watch Cell (there's a dedicated thread for it on the boards)...
but let’s be honest, comparing that pile of trash to the absolute disaster that was Coenovac's film doesn't exactly make it any better... 🙄

Hands down the best movie from the Coens since No Country for Old Men ☕

it's basically just a clever little nod to that classic Golden Age era of Hollywood,
claiming it’s boring or mindless or total garbage or whatever... 🤦

Pretty decent flick. It’s not quite up there with the absolute best stuff those brothers have put out, but it certainly isn't bad either.

But even that doesn't make Coenovac's trash look any better. 🙄

When I'm picking something to watch, I don't care about the actors or the director, and I definitely don't rely on IMDb scores. I just watch the trailer and decide. This "Cell" thing was sci-fi/horror, so I skipped it without even looking closer.

As for this pile of junk? I downloaded it thinking it would be some light comedy. I didn't bother checking the trailer because the file size was tiny, and since I have a decent 50 mb/sec connection, I figured it was faster to just grab it than to hunt for a trailer. What I ended up with? Well, I called it what it was.

Honestly, reading the comments on this PDF makes me realize why the good movies never get their own threads, let alone previews (unless I start one myself). It feels like everything here is either just following trends or actively hating on anything decent.

The first page is basically nothing but sci-fi, horror, comic book movies, a couple of dumb comedies, and that absolute trash, Tarzan.

To each their own, I suppose.

The years 2015 and 2016 were certainly overflowing with cinematic trash, yet for my part, I found this particular film to be entirely decent enough... though, given how high my expectations were originally set, I find myself mentally erasing its existence entirely while I wait for the next project from this crew...

It has been that way for years now...

A bit of a pleasant surprise, actually. I was pretty hyped after seeing the trailers, but once those reviews started rolling in and I saw the IMDb score tanking, I decided to skip the theater and the movie altogether. Honestly, the comments on here were enough to talk me out of even trying it... but then the other day, while I was hunting for a book at the local library, I ended up checking out the film. My brothers have already seen just about everything else, so I figured I might as well sit through this flop too (except for that bouncy ball thing, or whatever it was).

It’s actually a blast—really solid stuff. It captures that era of Hollywood perfectly with this subtle sense of humor. It’s basically just a day in the life of a studio head dealing with all the starlet drama he has to manage. Personally, Clooney has never really been my cup of tea, so he didn't do much for me here either.

I think Hail, Caesar! is absolutely fantastic.

It’s so typical of Cohen, you know? Just totally unpredictable, packed with these quirky characters and all those little subplots...
I loved how they subtly poked fun at those old-school ideological types that used to run the show during Hollywood's golden age, plus all the nonsense involved in movie production back then.

Now, I’m not usually a huge fan of Clooney, but honestly, he really nails these roles where he plays notorious gamblers and eccentrics. It suits him! I think that covers just about everything else—the casting is spot on, and the pacing feels really balanced throughout the story.

On one hand, I can see why this didn't exactly blow up at the box office, but I have a feeling that in a few years, everyone is going to be talking about how this movie was totally underrated...
