I loved the first one!!!! And I thought the second one was actually pretty good!!

This one felt like a bunch of recycled ideas mixed with pure boredom and some unnecessary filler. They could have taken such a different approach... Boza, I honestly could've written a better script than this!! What even was that? The acting and directing were fine, I guess. But the story and the script? Total disaster.

I'm looking back at movies I gave a 1 on IMDb. This is worse than all of them; it deserves a zero. Honestly, this might be the worst movie I've ever sat through in my life.

Goodbye, franchise loop.

Just watching this movie.
I honestly thought this was going to be some kind of sequel to the second one or maybe even a prequel, but even though it’s technically the third installment, it feels pretty standalone, you know? It doesn't really seem to connect back to those first two American versions at all.
The whole plot feels way more simplified, too; I guess in the first two movies, or even in those original Japanese versions, things were a lot more complicated and maybe a little harder to wrap your head around, but here everything is just super straightforward.
It’s basically just your typical modern remake, nothing amazing but not bad either, I suppose. Back when this came out in 2002, it was like a total horror masterpiece and such a huge hit, it felt so fresh and intense, but since I'm not exactly a kid anymore, it doesn't really scare me nearly as much as it used to, though it's still decent.
I kind of miss seeing those scenes from the well, though; it feels a little weird to me that they didn't include them in the movie at all.

I’d honestly suggest just rewatching Ring and The Ring: Final Chapter. I guarantee you'll catch details you missed before because that's how they're built. Even the book isn't entirely clear on it—it's basically about supernatural psychic abilities manifesting in different ways. But that's not telling you much. Just pay closer attention to how the characters act in the original and the sequel; the second one is definitely weaker, but it's still solid work.

As for those cheap remakes and copy-paste "American" versions? I don't watch them, and I certainly don't comment on them.

I finally caught Rings a few days ago. That whole concept about her duplicating herself like some kind of virus? Total mess. Basically, the video spreads through social media like an infection at the end. And the girl survives just because Samara crawled inside her or something. That's how it ends. Sorry for the spoilers, but the movie came out last year anyway
