So, I’ve run into this super annoying little glitch where whenever my PC goes into sleep or hibernation mode, the mouse just completely dies on me when I wake it back up, and I end up having to do a full hard restart just to get everything moving again.
Everything was working perfectly fine until about a month ago, so it's definitely a relatively recent headache for me.
Does anyone happen to have an idea what might be causing this kind of behavior?

I would suggest navigating to Start/Control Panel/Device Manager/Mice and other pointing devices/right-click on your mouse/Properties/Power Management/check "Allow this device to wake the computer"

Or perhaps more simply, in English 😁: Start/Control Panel/Device Manager/Mice and other pointing devices/right-click on your mouse/Properties/Power Management/check "Allow this device to wake the computer"

For those who prefer a more efficient route, one might try pressing the Start button + R, typing devmgmt.msc, then right-clicking the mouse, selecting Mice and other pointing devices, choosing Properties, moving to Power Management, and finally checking "Allow this device to wake the computer"

I trust this provides some clarity 😉

I went through all the steps, I even made sure that little checkbox for "allow this device to wake the computer" was actually checked, but honestly, it didn't do a thing for me.
Man, it's such a pain because now I can't even rely on sleep mode or hibernation to save my skin; instead, I'm stuck having to completely shut down the whole
PC every single time.
