Maybe it's just because CoH2 is such a specific kind of game, but the difference feels huge there. Honestly, I thought the performance would be closer than this benchmark suggests... it looks like Nvidia might have been a bit lazy with the drivers for the older series.

Yeah, I was actually pretty surprised myself. I definitely wasn't expecting such a massive difference.

We might see an even bigger performance gap in upcoming titles, especially since AMD drivers have been showing some real improvement lately. If there’s any silver lining to this heavy rebranding, it’s that they're squeezing every last drop of juice out of an aging architecture. Look at the Hawaii cards as an example: back when they first launched, the GTX 780 was actually the superior card, but now with this rebrand, it doesn't just hold its own against the GTX 780 and the 780Ti—it actually beats the 980 in quite a few scenarios (390X)

What kind of upload speed is your buddy actually working with? ...if he's planning on streaming with a measly 0.75 Mbps—which is basically what most people end up stuck with—he can just forget about it right off the bat
