They’ve been taken down temporarily just so we can clear out all the junk that’s been piling up over the last few days. Honestly, in some spots, it’s a total mess—I wouldn't even believe you if I told you!
Has anything like this ever happened before? I don't know. Does it even matter?

What kind of absolute garbage can you find on a thread where, in just a few posts, people start arguing about ankle injuries, dying, politics, and God knows what else? 🤷

Look, what I told Sandra Thompson5 above was simple: I preferred to flag the sensitive topic immediately so everyone knew to watch their step. I wanted to prevent us all from ending up with strikes and bans.

The rest is just leftover resentment from before, which is why your warning hit such a nerve. This place would have turned into a total dumpster fire on its own anyway. Plus, it's hard for adults to accept they can't talk about certain things.

No, that isn't what it means at all. Humanitarian work is one thing, but politics is something else entirely. When it comes to humanitarian efforts, people should be able to discuss organizing help, figuring out what's needed, and deciding where, when, and how to provide it—not debating who is a terrorist and things like that. If you ever feel unsure, just reach out to the moderators; their DMs are always open. And honestly, if a conversation accidentally drifts into territory it shouldn't, the ZAG mods are pretty chill; they'll just gently steer you back on track like they've always done.

And obviously, we aren't going to scrub every single mention of refugees or crises from the site.
We don't have a "forbidden word" list here; it’s all about the context of how things are being said.
Look, this is just the world we're living in right now. We aren't going to jump down someone's throat every time the word "refugee" comes up, but we're also not going to turn the Zebra into a dedicated forum for that topic either.
