Hello,
I am writing to the Zoe Kravitz moderators to lodge a complaint regarding the moderation of the silicone subforum. As stated in the original opening post, this thread is intended for women who have undergone, or are considering, aesthetic procedures of this nature.

This thread has existed for a long time and remains one of our most read discussions.

Until recently, the atmosphere among the women interested in this topic was largely positive. Shared experiences—both good and bad—made this Reddit community a vital resource for advice, support, and expressing concerns. I say "was," because that is no longer the case.

Over the last 30 pages, specifically starting from page 372 with a post by Little Puppet, there has been an endless tirade directed solely at one specific surgeon and all the women who had procedures performed by him.

She does not hesitate to directly accuse other users of being fake patients, doctor clones, or even his mistresses.

Furthermore, she accuses the forum of misleading women through fake patient accounts, providing unethical marketing space for the aforementioned doctor.

In her latest description, Little Puppet admits

that she has no personal experience with this doctor whatsoever.

Most women participating in the silicone thread have tried to ignore the angry outbursts from this user, which clearly stem from a personal conflict between her and the surgeon. In just six months of posting here, her behavior—which is surprisingly insulting and dismissive of others' choices, words, and lived experiences—has fractured the community and destroyed any chance of constructive discussion.

If the relaxed moderation style of Zoe Kravitz is why these issues persist, I ask the moderators to move the silicone thread to a more appropriate section where stricter oversight can restore a polite and cultured environment for discussion.

Thank you.

I’m still getting my bearings with the PDF, so I haven't had a chance to dig through every single page just yet. It would be a huge help to everyone if you guys could flag those kinds of issues as soon as you spot them.
Honestly, ever since I stepped into this moderator role, I haven't received a single report regarding that specific thread.

Alright, let me jump in and get to work on this now.

Christian Howard2, I appreciate your understanding.

The women posting in the silicone threads mostly follow those specific types of forums and rarely engage in other discussions. Is it embarrassment or just lack of interest? It's hard to say. Consequently, that specific thread consists mainly of users with very few posts who aren't particularly tech-savvy on Reddit, which might be why this issue went unnoticed for so long.

There was some moderation in the form of removing links to similar topics, accompanied by warnings that we didn't want to allow advertising for other sites. We all assumed that this style of communication had been acceptable to the moderators over the last six months. That was our mistake.

I would like to clarify one more thing. Until this year, the site http://www.justplasticsurgeon.com/ was considered a helpful supplemental resource by the women participating in the silicone threads.

On that site, which has stricter moderation, posting before-and-after surgical photos is permitted. In fact, those photos are exactly what attracts people considering such procedures. They provide the best sense of realistic expectations and desired outcomes.

Since uploading photos isn't allowed here, the workflow functioned like this: a user wanting to show her starting point or her results would simply share her Nick used on Just Plastic, either publicly or via private message, for anyone interested to look up.

In fact, this friendly exchange of information between the two sites made the discussions much more meaningful and clear. Therefore, I hope you will reconsider your decision to ban links to that site. The two platforms are naturally compatible, and since that communication was cut off, Reddit has lost its appeal to the women following the silicone threads.

Regards,

Generally speaking, we don't allow links to other forums here, and this community is no exception.
If you want to swap photos, just do it through private messages—from what I've seen, that's how most people handle it anyway.

Friends are friends, but work is work.😁 I get it, and thanks again.

As far as I'm concerned, the key is fine.
