Following up on my recent back-and-forth with the mods—here’s part 😁

Got hit with a warning because of this

The explanation doesn't actually say why—just "rule violation"—but it doesn't specify which rules... so if you were planning on appealing it, you wouldn't even know what to argue against 😉

Not that I'm planning an appeal, mind you... it's just that this whole thing feels a bit ridiculous. I was just using the latest info to offer some commentary

I posted something similar over on Reddit too, so now I'm just sitting here waiting for them to flag me there as well 🙂

I suppose it's safe to assume the mods—and whoever else runs the show—aren't thrilled with how brief my post was... which makes me wonder about these other posts in the same thread;

So, since the mods seem to love it when we drop links, I went ahead and shared ten links from this same thread—all either identical to or very similar to the one they flagged me for—yet none of these have been penalized

And that's only looking back five pages... who knows what would happen if I scrolled all the way back to the first page.

Gerald Rivera17, you didn't get flagged for the 😉 link, I told you that myself.

The thread already went back and forth on that video a few times. Nobody's quite sure why they turned down the aid. There was some chatter on the forum suggesting it was due to the crisis, but that seems wrong since they accepted help when civilians were handing it out yesterday.
Why they refused back then? Pure speculation at this point.

Gerald Rivera17 is basically just getting fed a steady diet of media garbage at this point.

When you've got outlets like CNN or Fox News pumping out half-baked nonsense like that, it triggers this massive wave of public hysteria—and honestly, that kind of stuff is incredibly dangerous.

but then again, who knows. You listed a whole bunch of links there... I guess it really just depends on how the moderator is feeling that day—or whose side they happen to be on....

The thread had already gone back and forth on that video a few times. It’s hard to say for sure why they turned down the help. People on the forum were speculating it was due to the crisis, but that doesn't seem quite right since they did accept aid when civilians were handing it out to them.
As for why they refused back then... well, we can only speculate...

This is the first time I'm seeing this, though I find it hard to believe that was the reason 😉

That kind of half-baked info from outlets like CNN or Fox News creates mass hysteria, and that’s a dangerous thing...

That's exactly why several forum members have already been banned for it, and if I recall correctly, there were even a few warnings issued to stop spreading that stuff...

Half-baked info from sites like CNN or Fox News triggers mass hysteria, and that's genuinely dangerous...

Plenty of people are. Personally, I think news from outlets like those should be banned everywhere except on Alternative or Edge of Science. It isn't about their political leanings, but rather the fact that they're quite literally publishing targeted half-truths, and more often than not, blatant lies or total nonsense...
Blocking insanity isn't censorship. It's no different than how "censorship" would be described if you weren't allowed to discuss curing cancer by staring at the sun on a medical forum.

Back when this was being discussed last time, things were relatively calm both here and globally, but now you can see the kind of damage these media monsters can inflict. Not that other news outlets are some paragon of objectivity, but this is a whole different breed—sites that openly, if subtly, incite hatred and stir the pot... and not just when it comes to immigrants.

Blocking madness isn't censorship. It's no different than how "censorship" is used to claim you can't talk about curing cancer by staring at the sun on a health forum.

The Daily Mail😁 I see it popping up on Fox News all the time.

So, regarding this specific "problem," the issue is really just that they were getting aid from the same boxes, whether it was coming from the Red Cross or just regular people... They weren't taking anything from government agencies, because well, that’s just how they feel about them.

It's safe to assume the mods aren't thrilled about the brevity of my posts, which makes me wonder why these other ones on the same thread are fine...

Well, since the mods want us sharing links, here are ten examples from the same thread that are nearly identical to my banned post, yet they haven't been flagged...

And that's only looking five pages back. Imagine what would happen if I scrolled to the beginning...

Fair enough, you've made your point. There isn't much to discuss if you aren't actually looking for a resolution...
Key.
