Hey everyone, sorry if I'm double posting here, but I couldn't find a thread for this...😡😡
I'm hunting for this Intel Core i3 processor (sFM1). I've been scouring stores around Chicago, but I can't seem to track one down anywhere. If anyone knows where I can snag one, please let me know!πŸ˜‰

Your best bet is hunting through the used marketβ€”check eBay or tech forumsβ€”since they aren't being manufactured anymore.
Head over to your motherboard manufacturer’s official website and look up their CPU support list . Just search for any quad-core FM1 processor because the specs are essentially identical . For instance, an Intel Core i5 would work just fine if you're using a dedicated graphics card, so there's no need to overspend on integrated models. If those are hard to find or priced like crazy, honestly, just pivot. Sell off your current setup and move to a newer platform.

I'm trying to track down this Intel Core i3-4130 processor (sFCM), but I can't find it anywhere in Chicagoβ€”or maybe I'm just looking in all the wrong places. If anyone knows where I can actually snag one of these, please help me out.πŸ˜‰

LOL, I've actually got one sitting right here :P

Check the official support list on your motherboard's websiteβ€” just look for any quad-core FM1 chip because the specs are basically identical. An Intel Core i5-2400 would work fine too if you're using a dedicated graphics card, so there's no need to overspend. If they're hard to find or just way too pricey, honestly, just swap out the whole platform. Sell what you've got and move on.

Wait, they aren't even being sold anymore?

Because they're outdated. Motherboard sockets change as often as people change their socks.

If you have a decent budget, just clear out the old gear and switch to a modern platform entirely.
