What a killer start for Habulin in Formula Renault. He actually held the lead during one of the races! My only gripe is having Štetner in your story. Let's be real—he isn't there because he's passionate about nurturing young talent; he's just looking to grab whatever he can for himself...

Let's be real—he isn't there because he's passionate about nurturing young talent; he's just looking to grab whatever he can for himself...

And you think sponsors from other teams are there purely out of love for developing young talent? 🤣🤣🤣

I don't know the specifics of the deal between Kreator and kikijev's team, but one thing is certain: there is mutual benefit involved. That is simply how the system works for any serious outfit in any branch of motorsports. I really don't see why we should be using words like "shame" in this context at all...
What is undeniably true is that Habulin already has significantly more media exposure now than he did in previous seasons. And let's be honest: publicity equals sponsors, which equals money, which leads to results. It's a very simple equation, isn't it? 😉

As far as the actual racing goes, he secured fifth and sixth places, and in the second race, he even led for a third of the way after starting from second. For a debut season, those first race results are quite realistic. We'll just have to wait and see if he can step things up during the next round at Imola. 🙂

🙄
Yeah.
And honestly—it gets worse—since the race itself wasn't even that exciting, plus the stream had this super monotonous commentator... man, what a drag.

After not watching CART for so many years, these cars look like little toys now. Those rounded rear ends look just plain silly... definitely gonna take some time to get used to them...

Regardless, that onboard view of hitting the corners and being right up against the wall? Still looks terrifying.
What I'm picking up is they've really improved the downforce. Drivers used to avoid dirty air at all costs, but now that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

It’s interesting that his main sponsor is Kreator (Štetner). They clearly aren't exactly swimming in cash, considering what they still owe Jergović.

I read somewhere that Saša Radola needed 400,000 euros for a season in the FIA Formula 2 World Championship. Naturally, that money never materialized.

The race was alright, but honestly, the broadcast from ABC completely ruined the experience—it’s always such poor coverage.

So much happened out there, but it felt like the production crew just didn't know, couldn't, or simply wouldn't show us more. There was actually this beautiful overtake where Hélio Castroneves moved past Scott Dixon for first place, but unfortunately, we only caught that on the replay.

At one point, Sébastien Bourdais was sitting in second, and then suddenly his Lotus gave up on him—we weren't even aware of that during the live broadcast! Meanwhile, Rubens Barrichello played it incredibly conservative, hovering around 13th place, only to run into fuel issues at the end and drop down the order.

Believe it or not, eight cars failed to finish the race. Only one DNF was actually due to a crash, which makes me think we might see something similar happening this weekend in Birmingham, Alabama (you know how much people in Birmingham love their governor boo hoo hoo).😉

In other news, we can look forward to a street race in Houston coming up in 2013.

Race Preview:

Indy Grand Prix of Alabama

Location - Barber Motorsports Park, Birmingham, AL

Date - Sunday Data, April 1st

TV Schedule - Pre-Race Show - 2:00PM, Green Flag - 2:45PM - NBC Sports Network

Course Type - 2.38 Mile Road Course

Distance - 90 Laps / 214.2 Miles

True, and I wonder what the actual reason for that is.🤷

It’s essentially there to act as a buffer, preventing one tire from slamming right into another—which, as anyone watching the racing knows, is absolutely critical when you're tearing around those high-speed ovals.

A road course on the schedule? Now we’re talking! This thing is a total bullring. Honestly, I still can't wrap my head around how they squeeze 43 cars onto an oval this tiny. It's just madness, isn't it?

So who even is this guy?

I mean, honestly, I’ve always felt like it’s way harder to police those situations where drivers are getting lapped by a full circle.

In NASCAR, there’s just no such thing as letting a driver slip by. Even if someone’s a lap down, they’re out there fighting just as hard as anyone else...

there was some oil spilled out on the track, so they were busy throwing sand down on it to soak it up

Where on earth are you finding those live streams? It’s always incredibly useful to have them handy—you never know when you're going to suddenly need one! Shoot me a PM with those links whenever you get a free moment.

Honestly, this isn't even a marathon compared to a track race.
The winner is simply going to be whoever manages to keep their head from spinning after two hours behind the wheel.
