I picked up a Zalman R1 case that came with three fans pre-installed. I noticed there’s room for three more, so I'm wondering if it's worth adding them. If so, what size should I look for?

There are actually five of them, not six, and they're all 120mm. Personally, I don't see the point in maxing out the count just for the sake of it; my main priority is simply ensuring we maintain positive air pressure within the case. Isn't it much more important that the number and sheer airflow capacity of the intake fans actually outweigh the power and quantity of the exhaust units?

So, where’s the sweet spot for that 120mm fan if I want peak airflow? I’ve already got one at the top and one in the rear of the case

Two in the front, one in the rear, and one at the top.

EDIT: Honestly, even if you decide to stick with just three fans total, wouldn't I still suggest putting two of them up front?

What should I be looking for when picking out a 120mm fan?
Thanks for the previous input.

Maybe grab that other one too, and just put it up front.

Thanks for the help earlier.

Look at the build quality. 😬

Honestly, you don't even need more than three...

I've got two—one intake, one exhaust,
and a massive chunk of heat sitting right on the CPU 🤣

I’ve got an R1 myself, and I ended up swapping that front setup so I have two intakes and a single rear exhaust. Since I’m not really sure how that top part is supposed to vent the air, I figured it wasn't worth messing with the upper fairing cover.
