Issues with my HP ENVY 5040

I'm having a bit of a headache with my HP ENVY 5040.

The text looks super wonky when I print—it’s all choppy and missing parts—but weirdly enough, images and big bold letters come out totally fine! And this only happens when I'm printing in black and white 🤔.

I've already tried running the head cleaning cycle a few times, but... nothingttt... 🙂

I'm guessing a nozzle is clogged or something? Does anyone know if there's a trick to unclogging it, or should I just bite the bullet and go shopping for a new printer?

You could try running multiple cleaning cycles—maybe even a "deep clean" if your printer menu actually offers that. You might also want to grab some printhead cleaner online (it’s pretty hard to find locally here), or just use some isopropyl alcohol and try tinkering with it yourself (just look up a tutorial on YouTube). Honestly, you could probably take it to a local repair shop or a place that refills ink cartridges; those guys deal with cleaning nozzles and heads all day, so they might be able to sort you out...
