melloworca6 is losing their cool and swearing at people in the politics section.

Since the name is in bold, I’m assuming we’re dealing with a moderator here—the same user listed as a mod for the "Health" subforum.

I have to ask: how does someone who gets so worked up that they resort to insults instead of actual arguments end up holding a moderator position? I’d strongly suggest stripping melloworca6 of their moderation privileges.

I’m not attacking anyone here. Using a word like "ass" might be crude, but it isn't an insult directed at a person. Moderators don't need to write their replies like they're filing a formal report for the National Academy of Sciences...

I was already wondering what I’d done wrong over on the Health board, but then this happens... 🤣

"Ass" isn't a swear word. Let's not sanitize this forum by nitpicking every single syllable people use. If it makes you feel better, just pretend I wrote "buttocks" instead. 😁

And honestly, what does my moderation on the Health board have to do with how I post on Politics? (Assuming that's why you're so desperate to see me kicked off the PDF project I moderate). On the Politics board, I'm just another user like everyone else, and I'm pretty sure I haven't broken a single rule that would warrant a strike. Just because some of you don't like my tone or what I have to say is your problem. I don't like everything other people write either, but I don't go running to the mods to get people permabanned just because they annoy me. 😁

The request is denied.
While one moderator can't exactly issue a strike to another, I certainly have the authority to step in if a moderator starts causing trouble over on the Politics board. However, there is absolutely no reason for me to do so here.

I honestly have to ask: how can someone who gets so worked up that they resort to cursing at other users instead of actually making an argument be a moderator on this forum? I'd also like to formally suggest that leeloo27 have their moderator privileges revoked.

Look, like I already told you, that isn't a swear word. We don't expect our moderators to act like they just stepped out of some high-society gala in Manhattan every time they post. Her moderation duties have absolutely nothing to do with this specific instance, so there's no reason to strip her of her role. Leeloo does fantastic, high-quality work over on the Health board, and we're really grateful for everything she does there—we hope she keeps it up. Using a word like "ass" isn't inherently profanity; depending on how you use it, it can be, but that definitely wasn't the case here.

Lock.
