So, my HP Pavilion was working perfectly fine. One day I decide to raid, the laptop takes a beating, and now it just won't boot up at all. I can get into the BIOS, but I'm stuck on the screen that says "press ESC to enter BIOS" and I can't move past that point. Help me out here.

When you're booting up your laptop, can you just tap F8 to jump straight into Safe Mode?

I'm stuck. Checked the hard drive, the RAM, and the motherboard. I can't even get past the initial boot screen on this laptop—it just freezes up immediately. Let's go pro with this one.

So, maybe just try a macOS bootable drive and wipe the hard disk—that should clear everything up if it's just a software glitch.

update: swapped out the CMOS battery, laptop actually powered on for a bit. I was using it for maybe five minutes before it shut down and went right back to the same issue. Is it even possible for a CMOS battery to die in just five minutes?

At this point, it sounds like your battery is probably acting up—honestly, you might just want to grab a fresh one and see if that does the trick.

Just bought a new one, but it won't actually launch. I don't get it.
