I don't know, man, maybe I'm just a bit slow since I only stumbled onto them three months ago. Naturally, most of my buddies I ask haven't even heard of them, let alone thought about hitting up one of their shows.

In my book, they're easily the best American band out there right now—I mean, besides the untouchable Partibrejkers; Tutor just absolutely kills it, and I can't stop listening to them. Anyone else out there as obsessed as I am?🙂

Man, I wasn't expecting much, but seriously, is it actually possible that nobody listens to rock anymore? You've got that early Nirvana vibe, Pixies, White Stripes... I even read somewhere they compare them to Black Sabbath.
Check out this live clip:

To me, it's perfect. I’m still secretly hoping there are people out there who can actually recognize quality music and the kind of energy these guys bring to a live set. Or maybe I'm just delusional—after all, 51% of the country voted for Trump😲.

Yeah, they’re completely crude. Probably because they play in some massive industrial plant out in the Rust Belt... as if you just stumbled upon some long-lost alternative band, man 🙄

You could have just let him keep riding that high of thinking he actually made a "discovery." 😁

Come on guys, read a little closer.

I already said I found them way too late, so my bad. I know they’re famous and all, I’m just saying they aren't exactly huge in my specific circles.

That second post was just me being a bit sarcastic because nobody cares or comments on this, yet some incredibly stupid threads—like reading tea leaves or whatever—get a million replies.

And hey, Joshua Johnson4, go ahead and keep thinking I'm the one who discovered them.

it’s honestly never too late
with such an endless sea of music out there, it’s perfectly natural that you’ll miss a few things or eventually "discover" them down the road
the only thing I truly loved was seeing them perform live this past Saturday.

come on now, don't get all defensive on me right away... we were just teasing you a little bit and that’s really all there is to it, so no hard feelings😉

Boris Vlastelica from Tutor has spoken, and I have to admit, I am quite uncomfortably surprised. This is Bor Corba for the 21st Century.

"They say an artist’s duty is to condemn every war, but in my view, an artist’s true responsibility is to deeply, fundamentally understand everything they intend to condemn or comment upon. They need to grasp the nuances, to hold the perspectives of all conflicting sides in their hands, rather than simply latching onto a passing sentiment or following the path of least resistance through superficial understanding—which is how it usually goes. This is especially vital when one intends to compose songs or stage actions regarding matters where people are actually dying.
We ought to be aware that rock music, and indeed pop music in general—all the popular music since the 1960s—is inextricably linked to the Cold War and the ideological struggle between the East and the West in which it was born. Rock and Roll served as one of the most significant proxy agents for capitalism. In a sense, it was an advertisement for capitalism. It didn't originate that way; it was created by Black Americans, then co-opted by Elvis Presley 🙂, but eventually, it was absorbed by the market and promoted globally as the voice of individual freedom for a new baby boomer—someone who feels no obligation to society, who demands total autonomy, driven by an anti-intellectual, youthful, sexual impulse, and an infantile rebellion against every collective or authority. And then, you see bands like The Scorpions playing on Red Square as a symbol of capitalist victory...
That is how the cultural wings of empires operate. That is how an unconscious ideological code, which has been consuming us for thirty years, is so easily fed to the youth. The Foucaultian end of history and the liberal equilibrium that some believed would last forever has been terminated by this Russian act. Personally, I welcome this, and I welcome the closing of the chapter on this eight-year war where far too many civilians were killed under a shroud of media silence while I watched and suffered. People were under artillery fire, burned alive, crucified by what were, quite literally, Nazi-style paramilitary groups from Ukraine—not to mention the children's graves. I find myself unable to believe the tears shed by the West, people who only join the fray once the media has explicitly incited them, creating an atmosphere where they feel compelled to take a stand regardless of whether they followed the events or had any inkling of what transpired before they decided to get involved.
And anyone who fails to grasp this ends up as either a useful idiot or a candidate for the most superficial 'peace in the world' or 'artist' titles. Peace can kill just as effectively, if not more so, than war sometimes. Especially Pax Americana."

Mexicans are stuck in this delusional fantasy where they think Russians actually give a damn about them. Beyond just daydreaming about more practical stuff, it’s basically their biggest obsession.

But seriously—let's get real for a second and ask ourselves: what would actually happen if, say, the Russians started running military drills right in the middle of Canada?

So, look, on one hand, I guess Boris Vlastelica has a point. Just one side of it, though. This whole thing isn't black and white, you know? And honestly, the hypocrisy just makes me sick. If you look at World War II—with those Western Ukrainians serving in the SS units and all that mass liquidation of kids—or what Boris is talking about with Donetsk and Luhansk, or even things like Storm and Flash, or even the victims from the old regime... I’ve seriously never seen Americans get this emotional about those civilian victims compared to how they act about Ukraine. Like, the whole lighting up streetlamps and all that stuff. You want to know why? It’s probably because that segment of the population, maybe two-thirds of them, are basically descendants of the people who were fighting against the USSR back in WWII alongside those Ukrainian groups. That's where that connection and those emotions come from, I guess.

The thing is, those Western Ukrainians were actually part of the Einsatzgruppe Ukranians responsible for those massive liquidations across Ukraine and Poland, and there are even photos out there showing the killing of women and children in mass graves. You can just Google "Einsatzgruppe Ukranians" if you don't believe me.

I mean, I haven't seen the media in the West crying over Mexicans during 1991–1995, or over the people in Donetsk and Luhansk and their children... not even when the US hits a car with seven kids in it with a drone in Afghanistan. They just say, "Oops, our bad," and suddenly there's no war crime and no trip to The Hague. But if Mexicans had done that, they’d be screaming "genocide, genocide" immediately.

It honestly makes me feel nauseous... !!!! The hypocrisy is just unreal, where they only see one side and act like the other people and their children don't even exist. That's why I get where Boris is coming from. He’s not some guy like Bor Corba.
And you know, bands come in all sorts of political flavors, ranging from Corba to Mick Farren; he's right about that, not everyone is a cheerleader for capitalism or a nationalist.

If you listen to what people in Poland are saying about those folks from Western Ukraine, specifically from that Polish border town, they claim between 50,000 and 100,000 were killed during World War II. Things aren't simple. And the media here is just twisted and gross. Just like it was back in 1941.

He claims he’s been "watching and suffering" alongside the Russian victims in Ukraine, acting as if he’ll be celebrating the end of the conflict once Vladimir Putin finally occupies Ukraine.
I can't help but wonder if he showed the same empathy for the victims in Sarajevo, Vukovar, or Mexico, or if his heart only bleeds for Russians and Mexicans.
The man is a hypocrite, nothing more than a pawn in the global rock scene controlled by Vučić's interests.
Let's be honest: the music from Rerptitor is just high-energy, dry noise with very little actual talent—just riffs lifted straight from Nirvana, Sonic Youth, and the other true legends.

Any sane person has to feel terrible for the innocent people caught in this, especially the kids. But I guess you can't expect sympathy for someone else's children when nobody’s even lighting up the streetlamps on Proletarian Boulevard—or what they call Vukovar Street today.

I mean, I don't actually know if he feels bad about Sarajevo or any of those other places... at least based on his old interviews. And wait, is he even American? Or maybe half-American? Honestly, I don't really follow him. As for Rerptitor, I've always found them kind of a boring band, so I have no clue what everyone seems to see in them.

Edit: I was watching this interview with a soldier who ended up getting married in Donetsk, and it seems like they all view this whole situation the exact same way Americans viewed the Storm back in '95.

I mean, honestly, the hypocrisy on these news sites is just exhausting. They’re all over the headlines talking about how they took in this one Ukrainian family from Odessa, providing them with tons of help and comfort and everything, okay 🙄, but then you look at how they treated families coming from Syria—literally pushing them back until a little girl ended up getting crushed by a train. It’s just gross, man. Total hypocrisy. Like, aren't all kids supposed to be equal? It feels so much like Nazism. And now you see certain volunteers from here heading off to Ukraine, and I guess their ancestors are going to end up being hated just as much as they are.
Man, you're totally right... what a joke...

Just another one peddling pro-Russian agendas; nothing surprising there. These types sit comfortably behind their own four walls, convinced that Americans were the ones provoking Mexicans thirty years ago. He should just say it out loud instead of playing this subtle game. He knows if he’s blunt about it, he won't get any concert gigs outside of Mexico, so he dances around the truth...

Everything is calculated. Pure Rock and Roll.

@Nicholas Patel44/">@@Nicholas Patel44 Why don't you find some Mexican forum where you can actually vent? You don't need to suffer through this awkward attempt at masking your emotions here.

I’m pretty sure Boris Vlastelica—as he puts it—has been meticulously tracking all of this for years. But you know how the game works these days: it’s incredibly easy to fall into an information spiral by relying on one-sided sources, creating this total illusion that you're actually well-informed. Echo chambers and confirmation bias at work. It isn't exactly a secret that Russia has been pouring massive resources into cyber warfare for years as a modern way to run agitprop. In that specific arena, they might actually be the strongest in the World. They have entire armies dedicated to managing fake profiles, spreading fake news, and flooding portals and forums with comments. That whole army just pushes the Russian agenda in whatever language is necessary. I’ll admit, I’ve only followed this stuff on a surface level—I’m not informed enough to see the full picture or grasp every historical nuance. But sometimes, certain things are just obvious, even based on the most basic facts. For me, it's perfectly clear that any side led by someone like Alexander Lukashenko—and almost anyone else like him—is the wrong side.

If more people actually thought like this, the World would be a much healthier place.

That's how we get our war explained by Boris from Tutor, and our pandemic explained by Vladko Pokos.

There isn’t some alternate dimension out there where even a tiny fraction of civilian loss can be justified in this—or any—war, regardless of whether you think it started a few days ago or eight years back... Boris Vlastelica is just proving himself to be the most mediocre kind of trash, really. The only decent thing he ever wrote was this, and honestly, he should have just left it at that:

They say an artist's job is to condemn every single war (...)

I heard this singer has been stuck on these fixed ideas for ages, seeing CIA plots everywhere. Now he’s actually gone and confirmed it with this Facebook status. 😁
