How do I find my old posts?

I'm trying to figure out how I can actually find my old posts.
Every time I click the option to show everything I've written, it just won't pull up the specific ones I'm looking for.
I'm guessing it might be because the thread is archived or something... maybe?
Specifically, it’s about that 2013 local elections in San Francisco thread.

Just track down the thread you're looking for, then click on that total post count sitting right next to it—that’ll pull up a list of everyone who's contributed, ranked by how much they've talked. Once you spot your own handle in that lineup, just click the number next to it, and boom... it'll filter out and show you nothing but your own posts within that specific discussion.

So does it show my total post count for this thread?
If I wrote 25 myself, will it actually show all 25?

I'll give it a shot once I burn through all these negative points I've racked up—since, I don't know, maybe (I'm not totally sure how this forum works) those might be stopping me from getting back into the old threads.
