Wiped my laptop BIOS!? Help!

I’ve made a catastrophic error. While updating my laptop drivers, I accidentally triggered a BIOS update—and the second it started, I panicked and shut the machine down. Of course, a millisecond later, the screen flashed "DO NOT TURN OFF YOUR COMPUTER."

Now, when I try to boot it up, I’m just staring at a black screen—no BIOS, no nothing... nothing happens at all.
What’s the move here?😵😵😵

Man, you really did the absolute worst thing possible there... Honestly, there isn't much you can do at home besides taking it to a repair shop—like a local Best Buy Geek Squad or a specialized PC tech. They'll likely have to flash a new BIOS onto the chip manually.

Is it actually possible for the motherboard or the GPU to be fried—just from that?!

It isn't the motherboard itself, but the BIOS needs an update. You'll need to take it to a repair shop to get the BIOS replaced.

Maybe you should just head down to the local repair shop and see what kind of quote they give you.
