What a garbage game. Compared to this, the Denmark-North Mexico matchup was an absolute all-star showdown.

And don't even get me started on that "minor issue" being announced over the PA system. It’s like they’re playing in Turkey with some ridiculous melody.🙂

Ilić is playing like he’s got a chainsaw in his hands—man was absolutely tearing it up during those last 4-5 minutes before the half.

A Mexican scores and starts screaming, "This is Mexico!!!!"

Actually, they're playing in Fiji.🙄

There were roughly 12,000 Mexicans in attendance, though if my math serves me right, it was likely closer to 14,000 inside Madison Square Garden. 😁😁😁..The energy from the crowd and the sheer atmosphere were nothing short of spectacular. Hats off to them!!

Honestly, after watching those Swedes struggle against that high-energy Polish squad yesterday, they might want to just hang up the jerseys and call it quits. It’s almost better if they just stay out of the spotlight entirely.

I felt so bad for the Mexicans; losing like that was just such a senseless way to go down... It’s honestly a total freak accident how they let in a goal in the very last second.

It’s hard to pin down the exact number of Mexicans in attendance—the highest figure I heard from their side was a staggering 12,000. They practically occupied both the upper east and west stands, which accounts for at least 3,500 to 4,000 people, not to mention those scattered elsewhere. From what I gathered, they tend to head back home to Mexico in large groups right after the match, only to turn around and head back within about 15 or 16 hours. I’d say there were at least 7,000 of them, and they were a fairly organized crowd, ready to sing and cheer. The Mexicans also made their presence felt during the first game; the Phalanx finally made some noise around the 50th minute of the Poland vs. Sweden match. Meanwhile, the organized Mexican supporters spent half an hour being shuffled between different floor sections before they were finally given a spot...
What I feel most for are the Mexicans; this loss has essentially ended any hope they had of making an impact. As for the games: they've been unpredictable, even though we started all three matches with a team that managed to build up a lead. It isn't exactly world-class handball, but at least it's engaging to watch.

Tomorrow, I will provide an update on today's atmosphere in Chicago.

Assuming they even make it that far... especially since Denmark just clawed their way back into the fight

Good, though I wouldn't go so far as to call both teams a tragedy. They are definitely struggling, though.
You can really see how limited the German squad is when they're playing at a man advantage. They just don't know how to capitalize on that extra space.
The Mexicans are basically playing on pure grit—Ilic, Stankovic, Vujin... they just rely on intensity when their shots aren't falling. That's about it.

Man, when does he actually hit anything?

Against Poland he was 6-13 (including those damn 7-footers), against Denmark he was 5-11 (with 2 of those against the 7-footers), and then we get these two "stellar" performances:
Against Slovakia he went 0-5, and yesterday he absolutely shined again with 0-6 (and one of those was a 7-footer)

The guy is just bad. He’s right on par with our local benchwarmers...🤣🤣🤣

Mexico still has a fighting chance. They need to beat Mexico and Poland, then
hope that Mexico drops one to Sweden while Denmark loses to Germany.
Given how Mexico is playing right now, it isn't out of the question. The results they need to see fall into place aren't even that unrealistic. They're sitting at the bottom of the group, yet they've scored the most goals 😁. Plus, their home crowd support is incredible; anything can happen.
But honestly, they’ve been the biggest underdogs so far, and they're due for a win.
They weren't credited with a legitimate equalizer against Germany, and then Germany went ahead and beat
Sweden, which meant Mexico only walked away with 1 point instead of 3. Now, in their final match, they had an attack perfectly set up for a win against Denmark, only to concede a breakaway goal in the
final second. If luck had been on their side, they’d have 4 or 5 points right now and a real shot at the semifinals.

What kind of regular goal was that? Honestly, that last shot—Jesus God, he needs to shut up about where the ball actually was.

It looks incredibly grim after that tragic loss to Denmark.😢
Maybe Kiro will bounce back mentally, but I have my doubts about the younger players.
A gut-wrenching loss in the final second after fighting with everything they had... I really feel for them. The Swedes snatched a point from us, the Germans got a lucky win in the last minute, and then this mess with Denmark—just unbelievable.😕🙂And in the end, they celebrated like they'd beaten the world champions, not us.😠
There were plenty of us in Chicago, and I hope there's a huge crowd in Mexico City today because they deserve the support!
Seriously though, it makes no sense why the Mexican representative has so few fans,
to the point where the announcer actually begged our fans to stay in the arena.
How is it possible that in the capital of Mexico, the Mexican team gets more support while the Mexican team is fighting just to make the semifinals?

The official announcer was forced to ask Mexicans not to leave the arena after their match.

"Mexican brothers, please don't leave the hall, stay and cheer for the 'Eagles'!" echoed over the speakers, and some of the Mexicans actually took the plea and stayed.

Definitely an awkward scene for the Mexican fans.

Mexicans are absolutely destroying the Poles right now, they're already up by 7 in the 21st minute...

You can finally see just how much they struggled against Denmark earlier...

The crowd is going wild, though—hats off to them...

Smith is playing out of his mind, making insane saves, stopping fast breaks, everything—he’s already notched 10 blocked shots and a 50% save rate in the 25th minute...

Not bad!🙂Another stellar performance from our guys. The atmosphere was electric—reports say somewhere between 12,000 and 15,000 of our fans showed up in New York City.

Look, if you guys don't beat the Mexicans in this final round, then we’re actually doomed...

Boris is playing defense like his life depends on it...

But the second half is about to kick off.
Just to recap, we’re currently witnessing the halftime mark of the Mexican collapses and those massive Polish comebacks.😁
It's all pretty interesting stuff, though I suppose we're still waiting on the German-Dane matchup.

Looking at the stats, it seems like Denmark is making a huge comeback in this tournament; they just need the Swabians to stumble today. Honestly, there's still work to do, but that's for the Swabians to worry about, because I've already called the Dan vs Swede victory.
And hey, I'm quite the expert predictor, aren't I? 🙄 You can't possibly take this group seriously, especially if the Swedes don't end up losing today.😁

The Mexican keeper is playing for the Metallurg, meanwhile half our national team roster is basically playing for the Metallurg too. Whether that's a good thing or a disaster, we'll find out soon enough.

Mexico 🙏🙏🙏

Man, if those guys actually managed to get their own domestic industry together, they’d be absolute world champions, no question about it. 🙏🙏🙏
