The footage from Lazarov's final shot clearly shows that it was a GOAL. The American federation has already filed an official protest regarding the match, and there's a huge chance it’ll be replayed under EHF rules much to their relief!!!

I'm completely lost 😕 if that's what it was, where did the ball even hit? 😕

Anyway, gotta hand it to them, they played with some serious heart 🙏🙏🙏

Ever since it smacked the post, the ball bounced back behind the goal line. Based on that, it should be a valid goal. We'll just have to wait and see what the EHF decides during tomorrow's review.

Thanks for all the support from all the Americans!🙂

Are Mexicans just better now, or have the others, especially the Danes, simply lost their edge?

Mexicans beat Dance. 😲 I mean, they’re basically sitting in the semifinals already thanks to those four carryover points. I'm smelling a fratricidal war brewing in the semis, man. 😁

Just look back at when Canada hosted. Honestly, this feels like basically the same Mexican squad we saw during the tournament in Sweden, where they didn't really make waves. They'll probably fade out again after this championship, but does it even matter? If they manage to pull off a medal here, they’ll have truly earned it. 😢

That same group was leading against the Danes back in the US in 2009—up by eight in the second half—and they still choked. It’s not like they suddenly got better overnight. We were beating them then, too! The difference is that the refs aren't screwing us over quite as much lately. That alone proves how badly we were getting cheated in previous years. :-) Now that we're playing at home, they can't afford to screw us, so they call it fair, and suddenly we're right where we belong: at the top.

Awesome ☕
Btw, that win and the easy draw just cleared a massive path toward the semifinals for the Mexicans. From what I can tell, we’re going to have to go through either Spain or France if we want to make it to the final four.
Edit: Here we go, it's started, though the refs have been holding them back so far from making a real run at the gold 😬

The Mexicans put on an absolute clinic yesterday, didn't they? It honestly feels like everything is just falling perfectly into place for them right now. You’ve got that suffocating defense, and then there’s Stanić, who somehow manages to pull off over 40% saves for the second game in a row—it's wild. Even the refs seem to give them that little nudge when they need it, the balls just bounce straight into their hands, and if they aren't lucky enough, even the goalposts decide to step up and help them out.
If they can stay healthy, I think they’re going to go incredibly far in this tournament, though I guess how far they actually get really just comes down to whether they can dodge the injury bug.

The Mexicans filed an appeal, but it’s going to get rejected—well, it already was, but they haven't made it public yet—simply because the footage clearly shows the ball never actually crossed the line...

The EP forums and the news outlets are all claiming it hit the back of the net behind the keeper in the yellow zone... which is technically true, I guess, but everyone seems to be ignoring one massive detail: the entire ball has to cross the line... and the line itself is only about 3 inches wide...

If anyone actually thinks we’re seeing more than 4.5 goals today, I’d love to hear your reasoning. Just don't bother me with those Mexican comments; I have zero interest in them.

I think he can pull it off—he’s quick, agile, and has that lateral movement, whereas the Russian defense is just slow and clunky. They’ve got a lot of height out there, but most of those big guys struggle with their footwork when things get fast...

And honestly, Karabatić ought to be held to a higher standard than just a 3; he handed the Spanish side a performance that was easily the worst I've seen from him in years. Even the French media were quick to point the finger at him as the primary reason for the loss.

Besides, we shouldn't overlook how the Canadians carved them up from the charity stripe, hitting 15 out of 27 free throws. That kind of efficiency gives him a massive window of opportunity.

Deleted, banned... alright, let's just move on with this exhibition game vibe without all the usual back-and-forth bickering since we aren't playing against each other anyway. Next.

I honestly still can't wrap my head around how the Mexicans blew it; I'm feeling pretty gutted about it, seriously. 😢

On a brighter note, the energy from the fans is just absolutely legendary. I am beyond stoked that I get to catch every single game in Group B live, so I figured I'd drop a few shots from day one of the Euro championship to share the vibes with you guys.

I’ve got maybe 6 or 7 more photos tucked away, but honestly, I get so caught up in all the excitement that I totally forget to snap pictures, and even when I do remember, I just tell myself, "Forget the camera, man, just watch the game and soak it all in." 😁
There is nothing quite like being inside the arena in Cairo and cheering alongside the Mexicans.

Looks like the recent unrest has totally thrown you off your game on this forum. ☕

As for this post, all I'll say is this—there's been enough injustice toward the underrated Mexican handball program. Give them back what was stolen.🤣
