Wi-Fi adapter issues

Hey everyone. My new PC finally arrived today, and for the most part, everything is running perfectly—everything seems to be working exactly as it should. However, I’ve run into a bit of a headache while trying to set up my Wi-Fi adapter. Every time I plug it in to install the drivers, the system starts making this constant, repetitive beeping sound—you know, that specific notification sound you get when a USB device is being connected and disconnected? It’s happening roughly every ten seconds. On my screen, I see the little star icon pop up for ten seconds, followed immediately by the red "X" error icon. I have already tried plugging it into several different USB ports just to rule out a hardware issue with the machine itself, but nothing changes. Everything else—my mouse, keyboard, etc.—is functioning without a hitch. The adapter in question is a Logitech C920. Thanks in advance for any help!

Try heading into your Device Manager and uninstalling it from there—then just pull the WLAN adapter out of the USB port and give your computer a quick restart. Once the system is back up and running, plug it back in and see if that clears things up.

Well, nothing changed—the sounds are still happening. Honestly, I'm at a total loss as to what the issue could be.

It isn't the ports; I've tested them all, and my mouse and keyboard work perfectly fine in those same slots. I even went as far as performing a clean reinstall of macOS, but the issue persists regardless.

Have you tried plugging it into a different computer yet?

Look, just because a flash drive is brand new doesn't mean it's flawless. Hardware fails all the time. If it's defective, just take it back for a refund or an exchange.
