Is this a glitch or just the way it works?

I occasionally lurk in the soccer threads—including the ones about the US Men's National Soccer Team—and while there’s always been plenty of pushback against the big shots and the shady management, I honestly can't wrap my head around what I'm seeing today.
The mods are acting completely out of line, just throwing insults everywhere!
And it's not just them; some of the other users here are spewing such blatant hate speech that it’s actually pretty gross to even post the links.

I'll drop some links to two pages that are basically just wall-to-wall vitriol and toxicity.

Here’s an example of one of the moderators being a total jerk, too.

It's really nothing surprising. This entire American soccer subforum turned into a playground for a small group of users to vent their frustrations ages ago, with moderators actively playing along by selectively banning anyone whose opinions don't align with their own. It's not even worth mentioning the sheer amount of insults and verbal garbage that gets allowed through. Hate speech and heavy insults are basically the daily norm here. Essentially, this whole section is completely ruined because any dissenting thought is wiped out by a very "precise" moderator hand. There have been plenty of attempts to flag this chaos to the site admins, but clearly, there's zero interest or will to actually fix anything.

Honestly, I don't see what's so terrible about talking trash about the absolute bottom-feeders running the US Soccer Federation. It's pretty pathetic that you can only say what you really think on forums—if you go public with it, get ready for a total media circus.

If some guy like Raymond Brooks81—who only seems to show up in the sports section when he wants to talk trash about Mexicans—feels offended because he took aim at a kleptomaniac who can barely string a coherent thought together (or, in this case, uses pure Australian slang), then that's his problem.

All the fighting between users has been scrubbed, and anyone who went too far got hit with a penalty—it feels like a few of the regulars are always on a timeout.

So, yeah. That's the deal.

You are a straight-up liar. And honestly, that isn't even an insult. Every single thread regarding the LA Galaxy is totally hijacked and ruined by a constant flood of frustration from a specific clique of people targeting the club leadership and any user who doesn't follow the forum's hive mind. The playbook is always the same: the moment someone tries to join the debate using the same language, they get slapped with cards for trolling or insults. Meanwhile, the newbies and the flamers are systematically deleted or handed cards based on their "points" just to prevent them from getting a permanent ban. Or, they pivot to ad hominem attacks and low-brow mockery of other users, which is somehow perfectly tolerated. The moderators back then could have written a book on double standards. We end up in a situation where the actual trolls and flamers keep posting away, while 99% of everyone else who doesn't conform is either permanently banned or restricted from the soccer subforum. The circus keeps rolling, but threads about the US Men's National Soccer Team and the LA Galaxy have fewer posts because nobody wants to blow a fuse or endure abuse from these forum thugs acting in symbiosis with the mods. Even that thread about Seattle Sounders FC wasn't spared from being torn apart by the resident forum "moralists" and socialites. And then people like you have the nerve to criticize my presence here. I’m not some kind of masochist who’s going to let a bunch of desperate losers tell me to go screw myself, especially when fighting back even ten percent of the time gets you banned instantly.☕

Since you brought up Mexicans, if you knew that a tenth of those disgusting insults from the US-Azerbaijan thread—which targeted Americans and Slavonians simply for daring to cheer for the US—were actually posted, you'd know that person would have been a dead man walking on this forum a long time ago.
