Got an IT exam coming up.

I managed to get my hands on the questions, but some of them are confusing... I'm stuck between answers on a few.

If anyone knows the right answers, could you drop them here or send me some links where I can find the info (ideally in English)? That’d help me actually learn it...

Did a little digging online but nothing really useful popped up.

I honestly don't get what kind of "expert" advice you're looking for here. Every single one of these questions has a straightforward answer—just a word or a quick sentence—that you can find yourself if you actually bother to click the links I posted. 🤷

Honestly, you aren't going to find much of substance on this Reddit thread besides people just bickering with one another.

I remember when I first started posting here—I had two separate threads about some pretty heavy-duty software compatibility issues—and it was like total silence; nobody said a single word, which, if I’m being honest, was probably just because everyone was stumped by the technical stuff.
But then, the moment someone drops a super simple multiple-choice question where you just have to pick A, B, C, or D, suddenly everyone is an expert, pasting links to foreign websites that most of us can't even read, all while getting a free shot at arguing with each other.

The whole point isn't just handing someone the answer on a silver platter; it's about nudging them to dig for it themselves so they actually walk away with some knowledge. Since we aren't dealing with massive, complex essays here—where the answer is basically just one word or a quick sentence—I don't really see how you help anyone without just giving away the solution... unless you just drop a few links to give them a starting point for their own research.

You haven't even considered the other side of things, have you? What happens if a person hasn't mastered English yet, or maybe they're just starting to pick it up? In that scenario, what are they supposed to do—firstly spend months learning English just so they can translate the prompt, and only *then* be able to answer the question?

I mean, would you really be all worked up if I decided to post a link in Japanese in response to a similar query from you one day?

I actually finished my reply before you added that bit about the language to your post.

But look, if the issue was really just a language barrier, he should've just said so and we could've cleared it up in a second... he never once mentioned anything about English being the problem.

What's the point of a forum... or life itself?

It's definitely not for getting quick answers to tests. And honestly, not everyone is here just to argue with you; people have lives, jobs, and other interests too...
In this thread, the guy really showed how these kinds of basic questions usually get mocked, and for good reason. You can expect a real answer when there's actual experience involved—like dealing with specific software or complex issues. A forum isn't some free, instant cheat sheet for exams. If someone answers you, it's because they actually learned it, not because they waited for someone else to Google it for them. Sometimes you just need to know how to phrase a search on Google when things get technical, since the answer might be buried in a random discussion on a foreign site. In this case, we're talking about basics.

Language shouldn't be an excuse, because:
a) English is basically the global standard in IT;
b) even if you don't know it, most answers come with plenty of screenshots, and a picture is worth a thousand words in any language (though maybe only 500 chicken nuggets in Chinese?)
c) if someone studied Russian instead of English, they can just Google in Russian. Miraculously, Google is localized, so you can search in supposedly difficult French too. The French, much like Americans, love making up their own words for everything instead of using international terms.
d) if you're taking a test, you go to school. If you go to school, you're required to learn at least one foreign language.
e) if you still struggle with languages and want everything in American English, you need a reality check: expecting a world of 8 billion people to translate everything for a population of 330 million is delusional, if not just plain ignorant. A huge chunk of the US population isn't even native English speakers already...

Anyway, I wonder what a "professional answer" to these questions would even look like?

It honestly feels like people are just looking for trouble where none needs to exist.
It’s one of those strange patterns I see all the time: if a solution is straightforward, everyone starts complaining that it’s too simple to be effective, but the moment things get genuinely complicated—like the hurdles I had to clear myself—everyone just goes silent.
Anyway, since the original poster managed to track down the answers they needed elsewhere, I suppose this thread can be officially closed.
