Hey there, I just picked up a new case, so I'm looking to swap out everything else. My PC is mostly just used for browsing the web and hanging out online... thanks!

I wouldn't bother with that one; honestly, you're better off just taking what Robert Rodriguez2 has. 😉

Or maybe just one setup with an SSD if you don't really need a ton of storage space left over.

I've been wondering,
what's the deal with recommending:

Intel Pentium G3220, 3.00GHz,512KB,3MB, Haswell

?

It’s a pretty snappy dual Core processor with integrated graphics, so I guess it should handle all those light tasks without any real trouble, just like the author is looking for.

A 3.0 GHz dual core is plenty for most games out there today, especially if you aren't trying to record your gameplay at the same time. I'm actually running an E7200, which is just a 2.5 dual core, and it handles some pretty demanding titles without breaking a sweat.

I mean, honestly, this processor is probably faster than that quad-core Sempron in most scenarios anyway. Plus, you actually have an upgrade path here, which you definitely don't get with that Sempron stuff.

Thanks for all the helpful replies, everyone!

Does anyone happen to know which processors with integrated graphics might actually give this Intel Pentium G3220 a run for its money?

I saw it listed on Newegg for about $140, so I'm trying to figure out which chips would be in the same ballpark—or maybe even a step up—if I'm willing to shell out a bit more cash.

The Celeron G1820 is a bit on the weaker side, while the i3 4150 definitely packs more punch than the AMD A8 5600K/6600K. Are you actually looking to buy something? If so, what's the end goal? I guess there’s just no point in us all obsessing over which 😛 is better 😬

Lightweight?! You can run max settings on BF3 without breaking a sweat😬

Just buy whatever the cheapest option is. If it's just for internet access, there’s really no need for anything fancy right now.
