So, I’m on the hunt for a Philips Respironics machine equipped with A-flex technology. Specifically looking at the IN551S model. I also need the matching Humidifier that handles both temperature and moisture levels—the one where you add the module to get the IN551HS setup.

I stumbled upon a listing on some UK site, if I'm reading it right, and the price is sitting around $650. That part sounds fine, but once you factor in shipping and the Humidifier, we’re looking at closer to $1,000. My main headache, though, is the import side of things. I’ve heard whispers that getting medical gear shipped directly to an individual can be a total nightmare with Customs.

Now I’ve started digging into some "alternative" suppliers. There are plenty of them out there, but the prices are honestly pretty steep compared to what I found initially.

I was wondering if anyone here has actual experience with these specific units? I’d love to hear from someone who knows their stuff so I don't end up looking like a fool or, worse, getting completely ripped off.

Thanks and cheers,

It’s a total pain, but you really can't get those CPAP machines covered under individual insurance plans, that's just how it works. I actually stumbled upon this by pure chance, but it looks like Medtronic teamed up with a local pharmacy chain to start importing and distributing their own Sleep Apnea programs. You should probably try reaching out to them directly to see if they can give you the lowdown on how it all works.
