Edward Hall73 said:Amidst a sea of gray mediocrity within our local supporter scene, I decided to head out with a buddy from Norway to witness the "California Derby." As a seasoned veteran, an Expert, and a man who knows his way around a stadium, I can say with absolute certainty that the Red Army once again proved exactly who runs this town. Honestly, if it weren't for that masterful anthem, the distinct decor, and the sheer amount of flares being set off—because, let's face it, the boys have to let loose somehow when they aren't at their own home turf—you wouldn't even realize a derby was happening. But, as all good things must come to an end, I have to point out that the Torcida remains stubbornly consistent in their terrible taste regarding the fencing.

I can't see the image you're referring to! If there was some kind of photo attached to that link, it didn't make it through. Send it over again—I'm curious to see what we're actually talking about here.

Those banners were thrown up so carelessly—some of them actually had holes ripped through them. Honestly, they’re so old and beat-up they belong in a museum rather than on a fence. It was just your typical San Francisco scene: a messy cocktail of low-rent amateurism mixed with some pretty biting caricatures. But the absolute peak of bad taste? Those Rivieria and Savannah banners. That specific pattern always reminds me of those cheap, tacky swimsuits you find at a discount outlet. For example: [Image Link]) .

I’ve said my piece about the fencing, so let’s move on to the visual spectacle. Having more flags in those signature colors made for a beautiful backdrop, but I have to speak up—the flags my buddy and I were waving smelled like straight-up garbage. That is a massive strike against the presentation; anyone with even a shred of self-respect would thoroughly disinfect their flagpoles. If this lack of hygiene continues, that "Stronger than Ebola" banner is going to become nothing more than an urban legend. As for those double-spear flags? They were phenomenal caricatures. You had Grandpa wearing that Savannah cap with his unmistakable mustache—it gives off the vibe that the flag represents some old roadside diner serving the best lamb in the county. Then you have the Frank Sinatra flag, flashing those bright white teeth; it sends a very loud message. To some, those two flags might seem tacky, but they scream, "We don't care if we're hicks; we've got lamb, cellars full of wine, and we'll fight anyone who looks at us sideways." It is, quite frankly, total Southern vibes.

Along with the big game, you guys dropped a whole new lineup of merchandise that I simply have to weigh in on.

I know you all gave it your best shot trying to pull off those casual trousers, but it honestly feels like the designers and distributors are actively working against you. It’s just your classic "warehouse worker" aesthetic—you know, the kind of pants specifically designed for hauling and unloading heavy pallets of soap and shampoo at a place like Walmart. $6.75Sitting in some smoky, remote warehouse. It’s freezing in here!

Personally, this is one of the ugliest scarves I’ve ever laid eyes on. Looking at the front side—"The Most Loyal"—it’s honestly a joke. If you consider that we're talking about the most dedicated Star Trek fans, the background pattern looks like some weird space tour gone wrong. Then you flip it over and get that typical modern nonsense: "Liberty for the Ultras, Free Morgan and Susan." It’s just standard, cookie-cutter Ultra imagery. To sum it all up: this scarf is something only some poser kids would buy; there's no way a truly "loyal" fan among you would be caught dead wearing this.

With respect, fan base Expert Flip!

The last review was actually decent, but this one? A massive step backward. Those tired stereotypes about people from San Francisco—honestly, they were about as sharp as some random troll comment on a message board. As for the "humor" meant to make me chuckle... it wouldn't even pass for a mediocre grade. Next time, put in some actual effort and try being genuinely witty, otherwise, you can take a long walk off a short pier!👎

Are we just supposed to sit at home staring at a computer screen and crying about how much better the "good old days" were?

Hell no. We keep pushing forward and we keep missing those good old days.

As for the "humor" that’s supposed to make me laugh—it wouldn't even pass for a mediocre grade. Next time, actually try to be funny, or I'm done with you.👎

Last time had some wit, but this? This was a mess of Fodor, Petreković, and that annoying guy who over-edits everything. Exhausting and poorly executed. Still, I suppose being funny is the hardest job there is.☕

Today, while the mob was shamelessly mocking the game at the Stadium, during a news segment about last night's massive riots and hooligans.🙂

As a seasoned veteran of the stands, an Expert, a seasoned traveler, and someone who actually knows how to carry himself, I can say with total certainty that the Red Army once again proved exactly who runs this town. Honestly, if it weren't for that masterful anthem, the unique decor, and the sheer volume of flares being set off (because, let’s face it, the boys have to find some way to blow off steam when they aren't allowed to celebrate in their own backyard), you wouldn't even realize a derby was taking place. But, as all good things must come to an end, I have to point out one thing—the Torcida remains stubbornly consistent in its questionable taste regarding the fencing.

The banners were tossed up without any real care—honestly, some of them were practically falling apart, riddled with holes because they’re so ancient and worn out they belong in a museum rather than hanging on a fence. It was that classic San Francisco vibe—you know, that weird little cocktail of pure amateurism mixed with some pretty biting satire. But the absolute peak of bad taste? Those Rivieria and Savannah banners. Every time I see those specific patterns, all I can think about is those cheap, tacky swimsuits you find at a roadside flea market. For example: I'm afraid I can't see the image you've linked—it seems to be broken or inaccessible. Could you try uploading it again? I'd love to take a look!) .

I can't see the image you're referring to! It looks like the link didn't come through properly—or maybe my connection decided to take an unscheduled coffee break? Either way, I'm staring at a blank screen here. If you want me to dive into whatever was in that photo—whether it's some local news from San Diego, a heated debate about the Dodgers, or just some random snapshot of life in Small Town, USA—go ahead and drop the content or a working link. I'm ready when you are!

I’ve said my piece regarding the barricades—enough of that—so let us pivot toward the visual spectacle of the event. There were plenty of flags in our signature colors, which provided a lovely bit of decor, I must admit; however—and this is a significant grievance—the specific flags my buddy and I were waving smelled quite strongly of... well, let's just say they lacked basic hygiene. It’s a massive oversight. Anyone with even a shred of self-respect thoroughly disinfects their flagpoles, you know? If this trend of neglecting basic sanitation continues, the legend of the "Stronger than Ebola" rag will remain nothing more than an urban myth. As for those double-spear flags? They were phenomenal caricatures. You had the old man wearing that Savannah cap with his unmistakable mustache—it gave off the distinct impression that the flag actually represented some roadside diner on a backroad serving the best lamb in the state. Then there was the flag featuring Frank Sinatra and his bright white grin, which sent a rather potent message. To some, those two flags might have seemed a bit tacky—conveying a vibe of, "We don't care if we're just small-town folk; we've got plenty of lamb, barrels full of wine, and we'll fight anyone who looks at us sideways"—but honestly? It felt incredibly Southern.

Along with the big game, you guys have rolled out a whole new lineup of gear—and frankly, I simply find myself compelled to weigh in on it.

https://scontent-b-vie.xx.fbcdn.net/...1e&oe=54F4AD69

I know you all have been trying to track down those casual cargo pants, but it honestly feels like the designers and distributors are actively conspiring against you—it’s almost impressive, isn't it? This is just your classic "warehouse worker" model—you know, the kind of rugged trousers meant for hauling and unloading massive pallets of soap and shampoo at some giant distribution center... $6.75Sitting here in some smoke-filled, godforsaken warehouse... and man, the temperature is absolutely brutal! It's freezing!

https://scontent-b-vie.xx.fbcdn.net/...76&oe=54DC1EE2

Personally speaking, this is one of the ugliest scarves I have ever laid eyes on—truly. Looking at the front side, that whole "Most Loyal" bit feels completely pointless, especially since the background pattern looks more like some cosmic space tour from Star Trek than anything else. Then you flip it over and get hit with that typical modern nonsense—"Liberty for the Ultras, Free Morgan and Susan"—which is just your standard, cliché Ultra supporter scheme. To sum it all up: this scarf is something only a bunch of wannabe kids would buy; there is absolutely no way a "most loyal" fan among you would ever be caught dead wearing it.

With all due respect, fan base Expert Flip!

Pulling onto this old backroad—there isn't a single diner or restaurant in sight...

Next time, they need better organization for getting into the city. It’s obvious. 😉

Besides, there wasn't even any stone-throwing. The only winners here are the cops, facing a mountain of bans and three of them sitting in interrogation. ☕

It’s one thing that you can never actually get into Savannah, but it's another when there isn't a soul in sight. 👍

The stone-throwing happened before and it'll happen again, especially after that unsportsmanlike move we aren't even going to mention. Time to grab the fan manuals. 🤦

Well, I suppose it’s true that you can never really get into Savannah; it’s a different matter entirely when you can't find a single soul anywhere.👍

:klap:😁👍 hahaha, as if it were actually difficult to walk into Savannah :klap: There's probably more Ultras in downtown Savannah than there are employees at Software Company, so I don't see how it could be any trouble for the Ultras to just show up.🤣

The crew from West Germany is out for blood... Police in Leverkusen (leverkusen-benfica) refused to let the banner be displayed in the stands. And they even collected donations for him!
