That’s exactly the problem. They actually let these people back in—some with their original accounts and others using clones—even though they’re sitting on permanent bans and partial blocks from the Formula 1 PDFs.😍

They've turned race day discussions into a bigger mess than anything you'd find on Example during the Super Bowl, where the only goal is to babble about who insulted whom while tossing out some rude emojis...

And when they ask themselves why the same people always get banned, they already have the answer... just look at when I, or stormybadger8, or Clark, or Fortin got the boot... 🤣

It’s always the same triumvirate: Maminj, Bob else with his clone, or Pilatus—except Pilatus can actually be decent and constructive when he feels like it...

Joe is in a league of his own... he's a special kind of plant that needs pruning every now and then, but also needs watering to really thrive... 😬

They’re definitely... interesting characters, mostly because of their blatant bias... they butcher basic grammar since they probably barely finished middle school... and they genuinely believe the entire Reddit, led by those power-tripping mods, is out to get them specifically. They're fascinating because they live for pointless arguments over things that don't even matter... and honestly, they're a riot because they make clones of other users just to mock them and entertain the crowd. Truly legendary, considering they can burn through 500 points and rack up 10 warnings in a single month for the exact same nonsense... yeah right, baby...

Down in California, we just call people like that total clowns... and everyone loves a good clown show, right, Bob?

What really ruins our local subreddit is the endless parade of idiots, narcissists, and self-proclaimed geniuses. It’s a constant stream of provocateurs, haters, racists, and aggressive trolls who clearly lack even a shred of basic decency or common sense. Add in the envious losers and the uneducated bullies—not to mention their endless clones—and you have a recipe for total dysfunction.

To be honest, the Formula 1 subforum has become a sort of neutral zone for certain users who didn't quite fit in on the other boards they used to frequent. Consequently, we have what you might call the "contenders for the crown": the users with the most warnings, those with the highest number of partial bans, and the ones with the most clone accounts. All this is happening within a relatively small subforum with a modest number of regular contributors. It leaves us with the same dilemma that every generation of mods has faced:
1. attempt to retain these colorful characters by trying to steer them toward acceptable behavior (by Formula 1 standards), or
2. hand out a few more partial bans to achieve instant peace, though at the cost of driving away a handful of passionate fans for whom Formula 1 is the center of their entire digital universe.

Up until now, we have consistently tried to succeed with the first approach. In doing so, however, we find ourselves constantly facing accusations from two sides: either that we are letting the subforum fall apart by allowing the "harbingers of doom" to shout over everyone else, or that we are heartless tyrants picking on unfortunate individuals who are actually being constructive. (If you look above, you can see cosmiccyclist8's example of this, where they provide links to posts that resulted in warnings due to arguments over moderator decisions. 🤦 ) It is quite clear that the current system is no longer functioning properly. It appears we will need to hold detailed consultations between Waya and myself, followed by the four of us meeting with Edge and Nick, before finally deciding on the future direction for managing our little slice of heaven.

To the people who have a problem with the "riders of the apocalypse"—look, I’ve got a million things that get under my skin too. You really think I’m going to tailor everything just to please you? You know as well as I do that he took his fair share of penalties and served them without making a scene. Every single week, it's always someone else. All I'm asking for is that the mods stop banning people over absolutely nothing. That's it. No need for some massive, heated insult to justify a ban; it's usually just the most trivial, petty nonsense.

So, regarding the general mess over at the university—what’s the deal with these disciplinary actions? Why does one person get a red card while someone else walks free for doing the exact same thing? What's the actual issue here? 🤷 Honestly, most of the time I just bite my tongue and take the punishment. I carry the guilt, say my prayers, and move on—you can see for yourself there’s no complaining coming from my corner. But look, man, every once in a while, if things are genuinely unfair, I just lose it. I have to speak up about what's happening, and if this isn't the place to do that, then I don't know where else to go.

It’s basically against the rules to comment on someone else's bans—which is pretty much what you did in that first post of yours a few days ago, effectively kicking off this whole debate myself.

That specific ban doesn't apply to you—nor does the reason why he, Pilatus, and Joe seem to be facing disciplinary action every other week.

They've got a handful of Formula 1 drivers involved, and honestly, those athletes are getting absolutely butchered out there. However, since you’re being so insistent, I will attempt to address this issue so that at least some of these Reddit users can stop getting banned from the Formula 1 threads.

It’s already starting with all that "calling out scammers" nonsense on the thread for the new race in Canada, and I guess the question remains whether we actually need some tighter moderation in here...

So, two people get into a little spat—nothing groundbreaking—and suddenly the mods swoop in instantly. Red cards are flying everywhere; one harmless debate turns into a mountain of points lost and bans handed out left and right.

But then, say you actually ask those same mods to move an entire thread of posts from one section to a more appropriate sub-forum... you know, doing something actually useful for the community? They don't react until three 3 days later. And that's assuming they even showed up on Reddit during that time.

Basically, if there's a mess to be made, they’re right on top of it. But when it comes to doing something helpful before the next holiday rolls around? Well, what can I say? Bravo, well done, great job. 👍

First off, you weren't exactly making a polite request; you were issuing orders. But fine, let’s move past that.
Secondly, we don't moderate based on personal whims. We decide how and when to react as we see fit. And if I may say so, I believe extinguishing a fire between two argumentative forum members is a far more pressing matter than moving a handful of off-topic posts from one thread to another.
