Hello, could someone please help me make sense of these results from my carotid artery ultrasound?
Findings:
Using color and power Doppler imaging of the carotid tree, both internal carotid arteries (ICA) show medium-width lumens—morphologically, there are no signs of significant bilateral stenosis, and blood flow (hemodynamics) appears satisfactory on both sides.
In the area of the bifurcation and the bulb for both internal carotid arteries, there are marginal, low-echogenic plaques. Morphologically, these cause mild stenosis (approximately 25%) at the origin of the ICA bilaterally, though the hemodynamics remain satisfactory on both sides.
Circulation direction in both ophthalmic arteries is physiological.
There is an asymmetry in the lumen width of the vertebral arteries (LAV 3.8 mm; DAV 2.8 mm) measured in the V1 segment bilaterally; circulation direction is physiological on both sides, though the left side is normal while the right side shows attenuated hemodynamics.
Thanks for the help.
