Hey there,

So, I've been living with Hemiparesis since birth—basically, one side of my body has always been a bit weaker than the other. I'm in my 20s now, and honestly, it doesn't really slow me down that much; I can pretty much get through my day just like anyone else. But I was wondering if there are others here dealing with the same thing? I’d love to hear how you all manage—like, do you stick to a specific exercise routine (any particular moves you swear by?), how you navigate daily life, or even just how you deal with people who don't quite "get" it.

I suppose I have a situation of my own that I’m hoping to untangle, and perhaps your insights might offer some clarity. Since birth, I've lived with Hemiparesis—which essentially means one arm and one leg haven't quite developed with the same strength as the rest of me. It isn't incredibly obvious to the casual observer, though my close friends certainly notice it; most people don't even blink twice when they see me passing by. For the most part, it doesn't interfere much with my daily life, but I think my real struggle is more psychological than physical. Every so often, that limb just... stiffens up. And if I look closely at when it happens, there's a bit of a pattern. For instance, if I'm walking down a sidewalk and I get that sudden awareness that someone is watching me, I start to limp. Or, if I'm approaching someone to shake their hand, my arm tends to lock up. It’s funny, because if it's just a quick, spontaneous handshake, I'm perfectly fine, but if I'm navigating through a crowd and feel those eyes on me, the tension kicks in immediately. I can't quite tell if this is purely a mental hurdle or something deeper, but being in my mid-twenties, I was wondering if anyone else here deals with something similar, regardless of whatever underlying physical conditions you might have.
