I don't know if anyone’s already started a thread about this, but I went to see my doctor a couple of days ago and, man, what a disaster. Out of nowhere, this guy just turns incredibly rude and starts belittling me right in front of the nurses and all the other patients sitting there. Look, I get it—everyone has bad days, and I’m not trying to make excuses for him—but I felt totally humiliated. It was awful. I mean, isn't there supposed to be some kind of standard? As far as I know, doctors are actually required to respect their patients and act like professionals while they're on the clock. To make matters even worse, a few people in the waiting room were whispering to me beforehand that this same doctor has put them in awkward, uncomfortable positions way more than once. It's like a pattern at this clinic. 😢

Ugh, tell me about it... I once reached out to the administration at a local hospital and got absolutely nothing—not even a "hello." So, naturally, I took it up with the Patient Rights Commission, and still? Crickets. It was total Bahatluk, completely unprecedented.

There's that white hotline available (plus email), and I suppose you could always try reaching out directly to the Department of Health and Human Services too.

I think you’re just spinning your wheels here—they all look out for one another, and I'm pretty sure the nurses didn't hear a single thing you said.
School taught you how to handle this, right? Like, if a doctor acts awkward or makes things uncomfortable, you shouldn't just snap back with the same attitude to prove a point.
Honestly, he’s the one who should be worried about the embarrassment. He’ll be the one feeling the sting because those nurses will probably spend years laughing about it and bringing it up during their shifts.

Unfortunately, filing complaints rarely yields any meaningful results. 👎

One Sunday, I was sent from the ER to an ENT specialist because of a severe ear infection and a fever of 104... At the local hospital, the doctor on duty actually insulted me! He told me it was shameful to show up on a Sunday and yelled at me, asking why I couldn't just wait until Monday like everyone else.
Then, I calmly informed him that his behavior was what was truly shameful, and that if Hippocrates could see how he conducts himself, he would be turning in his grave... I honestly regret not reporting him to the local news...
Anyway, fast forward a week: my ear pain had escalated to the point where I could barely function, yet he had the nerve to claim the infection was completely cleared. He even insisted that I couldn't see any other doctor because he was the one who treated me in the first place.
Before me, there were parents with a toddler, maybe three years old. Naturally, the child was crying while he was poking around their nose. He actually yelled at the parents, asking why they hadn't "prepared" the child for the exam. I mean, seriously? How are you supposed to prepare a toddler for something like that?
So, what do I do? I drive over to Scranton to make an appointment, and they manage to see me within two days. They examine me, switch my treatment plan, and the infection clears right up.
The doctor there asked why I had traveled all the way from Savannah to Scranton, and I told her the truth: my ear still hurt despite the previous doctor claiming I was fine, and that he was acting completely irrational—so I shared the whole story with her... Only to find out later that she is actually his godmother!😂

Which doctor did you see? I've got an ear infection and have to head to the ENT at the hospital this Thursday, but I’m trying my best to avoid that specific "doctor."
Feel free to DM me.
Thanks

If you're in the city, you should reach out to the Patient Rights Commission of the City of Chicago over at 26 Đorđić's Street. They ought to look into what happened.

The Medical Board?
If the hospital administration just ignores you, maybe a higher authority will actually step up. Well, that's a big "maybe"...

Honestly, I think we’d get way more traction by just blasting an email to the press instead of wasting our breath complaining to anyone else.
