Quite simply, those who hold the same views are protected, while anyone else finds themselves scrutinized over the smallest triviality just to justify a suspension or a permanent ban.

There you have it. That is my take on the current situation. Honestly, I find it difficult to believe things will ever improve, given that the administration doesn't seem to view this as an issue at all.

I have experienced this firsthand within the Politics section and can absolutely attest to its truth. If too many people gather who disagree with the moderator and happen to present more compelling arguments, the entire thread is simply shut down. It is quite a dictatorship, reminiscent of the darkest eras of American authoritarianism.

Intro.
The Banker just got hit with yet another demand of his own making.

The breakdown.
After everything he's put out there, he's playing the victim. Yeah, right...

Bottom line.
He isn't the first one to act this way—just look at Goldenboy or Sabina—and we certainly aren't the crazy ones here...

The Banker was banned for his own doing (for the second time in a row).

Analysis.
After everything he wrote, he plays the victim. Can you believe that?

Conclusion.
He isn't the first in a long line of such commentators (Goldenboy, Sabina), nor are we all crazy or unintelligent.

Introduction.
You clearly don't know how to read.
Analysis.
This isn't solely about him. However, the man has demonstrated clear double standards.
Conclusion.
Do not troll the thread if you fail to grasp the point.

I see some people have even been banned following this thread. Progress is being made.

Well, yeah—a post like that is a textbook violation, and the mods will definitely step in to sanction it. I haven't spent a ton of time lurking in the political subforums, but I’ve never run into trouble myself; whenever I messed up, I just took my L and moved on. Honestly, I think the political section is moderated much more strictly than the religion boards...

The other issue is that some users just don't grasp the rules. They seem to think they can report every single post that happens to rub them the wrong way, assuming there'll be a penalty...☕

Let's look at a specific example from this current thread: someone claimed "Canadians are scum." That's a malicious generalization targeting an entire group. If he had written "some Canadians are scum," or "there is scum among Canadians," that would actually be a valid post—because, let's face it, there's scum in any group, whether you're talking about Canadians, Americans, or Chileans... 🤷

You clearly missed the point.
Body.
It isn't just about him. But he definitely showed some double standards here.
Conclusion.
Don't come trolling if you don't get what we're saying.

Though I see some people even got a Banker ban after this thread started. Progress!

Even though you're banned, I still have to respond.

Just to be clear, I totally get the point being made.

I haven't seen Velid's posts on unknown politics. I don't hang out there.
If someone is posting nasty things about an entire group—specifically Canadians—report it. If the moderator ignores it due to alleged bias, start a new thread here. In that case, the admin team needs to step up and respond.

But, I am familiar with other things Velid has written.
I even saw his avatar where he was disrespecting the flag of America, such a friendly nation... (I personally filed a complaint).
Giving cheap excuses like "I didn't know" is just nonsense. That kind of thing only works on tabloid sites like Fox News.

So much for double standards.
Like I said, we aren't stupid...

Seriously, this is just straight-up malicious labeling—why don't you just give yourself a red card and call it a day?
