I apologize if this topic has already been covered, but whenever I search Google, I just get hit with results for either the Republican Party or DVD players.

Here’s the situation... I have a Panasonic DVD player that uses a General Electric drive to hold all these recorded movies, series, and whatever else was pulled off TV. My plan was to pull the hard drive straight out of the player, plug it into my PC, and boot up Windows. The "Found New Hardware" wizard popped up, installed its drivers, and called it a day. However, the drive isn't showing up in My Computer at all, and when I check Computer Management under Disk Management, it shows up as entirely unallocated, which basically means there are no partitions detected. It’s pretty obvious the drive is formatted in a file system that Windows doesn't recognize. Does anyone here actually know how I can access the content stored on that disk?

thx 🙂

Maybe it's running Windows? I'm guessing there's some version of Windows inside the DVD player, so the disc is probably formatted to something like NTFS or whatever. Try booting from a live USB to see if it picks it up.
