Jewish actors and directors in Hollywood

Look, everyone, please don't misinterpret my intentions here as antisemitism or any kind of racism—God forbid, I’ve never been that type of person and I never will be—but certain patterns in Hollywood strike me as odd; perhaps it's just my perception, I honestly don't know 🤷

But considering that Jews are a minority in the USA, is it actually possible that they are so incredibly talented that they essentially make up over 50% of the acting rosters in Hollywood (specifically the most successful ones)? When you look at the directors, the writers, even the actors—Jews seem to be everywhere. I’m genuinely curious if anyone else has noticed this, or if I am completely off base here. If I am, then by all means, close this thread and forget I ever said anything...

There are certain actors where I would never have guessed they were Jewish; it truly never crossed my mind. Again, please do not view this topic as any form of antisemitism—this is strictly a personal observation regarding Hollywood. Am I the only one who finds it... I don't know... "a bit strange" that every second successful actor in Hollywood is a Jew? Well, maybe not every second one, but certainly every third. This isn't about some conspiracy theory 🤣, I am simply asking a straightforward question, yet someone will inevitably interpret it as racist. What is wrong with that? Besides, Jews aren't a race; they are an ethnic group. So, does the old joke about Hollywood being a "Jewish film studio" that frequently prioritizes actors from that specific ethnic minority actually hold water, or is it just my imagination? 🤷 Is it truly plausible that they are such exceptionally talented actors and directors in Hollywood that they constitute practically the majority of the cast (among those at the top)...

My question was simply whether it's statistically plausible that such a massive portion of the top earners and most successful people in the industry share that background. Look... I'm not some bigot sitting here listing names on forums and counting blood cells; I was just curious about one specific thing and asked it. I’m looking at this IMDb list of Jewish actors and I honestly can’t wrap my head around it. It looks like being Jewish is basically a prerequisite for making it in the movie business. It's wild. I find it hard to believe every single one of them was born into the faith.

Look, everyone listed there is Jewish—it says "only" 205 people, but where are the other 200? For instance, names like Uma Thurman aren't even included in that count... and so on. I brought it up because the blatant nepotism in Hollywood is bizarre and far too obvious to ignore—and if questioning nepotism suddenly makes someone "antisemitic," then I honestly have no idea what else qualifies under that label anymore.

Don't get worked up; just take the suggestion. If you had started a thread in the other sports sections asking why Black players are better at basketball than White players, they would have shut it down immediately. Not because it's racist, but simply because a topic like that doesn't belong in a section dedicated to discussing sports.

I know I'm not, and this topic isn't chauvinistic either. You asked a straightforward question. A much stupider topic would be "intelligent film for an intelligent viewer," so this is fine... It's a perfectly normal question: how is it possible that 99.9% of Hollywood actors are just hacks? Isn't that... hmm... a bit strange 😁?
