It was in the New York Post—that should be answer enough for you.

Rest in Peace Mark—may the American soil rest easy upon you. 1312

Honestly, they don't give a damn. People might not love them, but if you pit sports fans against the police, I guess at least 80 percent of the population will side with law enforcement. I suppose the kid was "lucky" that they didn't realize he was a fan beforehand—or that his record is actually clean regarding game-day incidents... Imagine if the kid had been hit with a ban just because of a flare. I dread to think what the headlines would have looked like.

I’m not exactly a proponent of blind legal adherence here. I believe folks in the County should be able to find out exactly who detained him, who was on duty at the station, and so on... You have to call them out publicly. They can basically throw the presumption of innocence out the window; the kid didn't do anything wrong. Honestly, anyone with even a one percent connection to this mess should have their lives made miserable—they should regret ever being born. Absolute scum.

The most pathetic part of this whole situation—assuming anyone actually gets held accountable—
is that they’ll probably just get slapped with an "abuse of power" charge, have their badge taken away, and honestly, that’ll be the end of it. It’ll all just be a performative gesture so they can claim someone was punished.

So, what we're looking at is a stripped badge, a one-month suspension, and maybe a month of paid vacation, because hey, the guy was just doing his job, right? 🙂
I truly despise this country.

Hey everyone,

My deepest condolences go out to the family during this difficult time.

I actually experienced my own version of torture at the Des Moines police station—though it had nothing to do with sports. It was actually regarding a Marko Perković Thompson concert back in the summer of 2007.
To be fair, I did spray-paint a few pieces of graffiti, but that certainly doesn't justify what happened inside that precinct. They stripped me down almost completely, and then this biker—a total Rom—starts pummeling you from every angle with a newspaper before shoving you into a locker. He just kept hovering over me. When I finally swung a palm at him to get him off, three more guys suddenly appeared out of nowhere to join in on the beating. Eventually, the chief of the precinct shows up, and instead of addressing the situation, he starts lecturing me about patriotism and the vital role the police played during the Civil War. A textbook example of a corrupt bureaucrat. After all that, there was a ride in a golf cart, a lot of paperwork, forced confessions, and an escort to the train station. I eventually received a summons for court, but I didn't bother showing up. Instead, I sent a formal letter stating that I had been beaten without cause, regardless of whatever minor infraction I might have committed.😠

In Canada, people start rioting whenever a cop kills someone without cause, whereas here in the States, it barely even makes the local news.😢

Man, I guess some people just live life so hard it hurts, and then they're gone before you can even process it.

Rest in peace, Mark. I really hope that wherever you are now, there’s another version of the Yankees waiting for you—so you can finally give them everything they ripped away from you here. Your life. It was too short. Way too damn short. You had so much ahead of you: the highs, the road trips, the crushing losses, and those massive wins. You were supposed to have a whole future wearing that jersey. All that passion, the tears, the pure euphoria, the endless miles traveled, the freezing stops, the sun, the rain, the flares, the smoke... They took all of it. I just hope there’s another Yankees up there for you, where you can truly be home, back in the middle of the madness, feeling that rush again with a song on your lips... That one song that made you feel alive, the one about the Yankees, your Yankees.

REST IN PEACE

I don't care how much they hype themselves up; there's no way that useless administration is actually going to ban anything today.
It’s just a shame more people aren't aware of this—how we dealt with unprecedented censorship back then...
all just to cover up how those idiots were acting. 🙂

It’s all playing out exactly like back in '15—those pre-planned protests, all that cowardice, just desperate to flex their muscles and prove how tough they think they are. Just play it smart, everyone; let's make sure Mark can actually be proud of us. 👍

Who on earth could possibly target an eighteen-year-old boy who’s already passed away?? Just how deeply insecure and twisted does someone have to be to behave like that? And then they actually go as far as using batons on him and forcing him to do push-ups? That kind of behavior is nothing short of pure evil. We absolutely have to support this family in their lawsuit, and we aren't just talking about a wrongful death suit against everyone involved at the precinct—we are going all the way with criminal charges too. To all the cops reading this, don't you feel even a shred of shame in your souls? Honestly, what kind of world are we living in when a kid gets treated like this?

We absolutely cannot let this slip through our fingers! This isn't just about him—it’s about everyone who comes after us!!!
We need to be loud about how much space we have to work with here; we need to turn up the heat on both the media and the public, organize protests, set up blockades—honestly, whatever it takes... We have to maintain constant momentum so this tragedy doesn't just fade into some forgotten footnote in history!!!!!!!!!!! It is our SACRED DUTY!!

Rest in peace, kid.
