I honestly think his performance in that movie is one of the best ever—hands down.

Primal Fear and American History X are absolute masterpieces—just like him, really.
Regarding Primal Fear, he lands his first major role and immediately scores an Oscar nomination. I could probably watch that movie a hundred times just to see that performance again; it’s mind-blowing. That final scene? Pure 🙏 🙏
It's pretty wild to think they picked him out of a few thousand hopefuls for that part, especially since he was a total nobody before that.

Oh, and while he was living in Japan for a bit, he actually worked on some footage for a textbook that's still being used in high schools today. 🤣I thought I had some photos of it saved somewhere, but nothing's popping up right now—I'll post them if I track them down.

In terms of American History X, he’s great.

If you ask me, he’s easily one of the best actors of his generation, even if he doesn't flood the screen like everyone else. He’s only got about 30 credits on IMDb.

His work in American History X, Primal Fear, and Fight Club? Absolute perfection. It honestly kills me that he hasn't walked away with an Oscar yet, because he earned it. Even in The Score and The Italian Job, he holds his own playing the heavy. Those are two tight, solid crime flicks where he proved he can play a villain better than almost anyone.

It’s a shame he hasn't kept up the momentum with top-tier movies lately, but since he doesn't overwork himself, I’m still holding out hope he’ll land something great and jumpstart his career again. The guy has pure class. In my book, he’s lightyears ahead of some of those other big names from his era who get all the hype.

Should I vote for the movie where he’s at his most handsome, or the one where his acting is actually the best? 😁

He was incredible in Primal Fear, American History X, and Fight Club... but I ended up voting for The Score. For me, that's his absolute best work.

Honestly, "American History X" is hands down his best work—it’s easily one of the greatest movies ever made, period. And can we talk about his performance? It's legendary, seriously one of the most powerful things you'll ever see on screen.

I've actually sat through pretty much his entire filmography myself.

Out of all the titles I've checked out, Primal Fear is definitely my favorite movie of his.

I think I’ve seen most of these, and anything I missed is definitely going on my watchlist.
American History X and Fight Club are at the top for me. I also thought he was great in 25th Hour... even in The Painted Veil, despite how much the subject matter differs. It’s a romance, but he still pulls it off.

Bottom line: I’ll always watch an Edward Norton movie. He’s a fantastic actor, and there’s just something about him that draws me in. 😍

Tyler Durden is pretty much etched in stone at this point—though I'd say Brad Pitt is hovering right on the edge of greatness there too!

American History X - an incredible film and performance🙂

He’s such a phenomenal actor. It’s a shame he hasn't been in the spotlight much lately; I’m honestly not even sure if he’s working on anything new. The last time I saw him was in Hulk, but truthfully, that movie never really grabbed my interest.

I guess my favorite has to be Down in the Valley.
As for Fight Club, it just felt way too overplayed for me... I honestly didn't even really notice it.

Not sure how to frame it—is it his best movie overall, or just his absolute powerhouse performance?

Anyway, we can all agree Fight Club is his best film. No debate there.

Ugh, honestly, his absolute best work has to be Fight Club—I don't even think there's a debate to be had on that one.

I'm with you on that... he definitely killed it more in this role than he did in American History X.

You gotta weigh everything for an acting gig, but you could toss Primal Fear, American History X, or Fight Club into that mix too, you know?

While I’d argue that Fight Club is the superior film, Norton delivers a much more powerful performance in American History X.
