As if Sex Ed wasn't enough, now we need yet another topic.

Just a heads-up: threads like "why are conservatives X and liberals Y" aren't welcome here. If we let that kind of stuff take over, this forum would just turn into some endless political poll.

Generally speaking, topics centered around "why the right wing is X and the left wing is Y" and stuff along those lines aren't really welcome here on the forum... because if we just let everything like that circulate, this whole place would basically turn into nothing more than a repetitive poll of liberals versus conservatives.

It seems like almost every single discussion eventually devolves into this leftists vs. rightists dynamic.

If I were to actually start typing out my thoughts on this connection between the left wing and sexuality within the context of sex education, someone would probably just delete it or claim I was trolling, wouldn't they...

Clearly, when I bring up the subject of sex, I'm not just talking about the physical act itself, but rather its entire "political superstructure"...

Perhaps that's where most of the misunderstanding lies...

So, what else do we need to spark another one of these "great debates"?

I think this topic has legs. It’s pretty obvious that today's social democratic parties are desperate to brand themselves as champions of minority groups. Since they’ve long since abandoned their actual base—the working and middle classes—advocating for these groups is really just a substitute activity.
Beyond that, history shows us that enjoying sex, much like theorizing about it, was originally a luxury reserved for the upper class.

At the end of the day, sex has always been a class issue, and now it’s one of the few topics where social democrats can fake having a social conscience.

Since they've basically abandoned their actual base—you know, the working class and the middle class—advocating for these specific demographics has become nothing more than a way to fill the void left by their lost influence.

Man, you are literally reading my mind right now... 🙂

James Patel20, Šmokljan wasn't making any revolutionary claims, he was just speaking generally, and honestly, I'm not interested in being lectured by anyone.
I don't need someone preaching to me about morality or self-respect, especially when they spend all day staring at adult films. It’s funny how everything still functions like the old days, specifically regarding that teacher-student dynamic.
If I’m the one teaching, you're going to listen to me—period.
The hierarchy hasn't changed; that authority needs to be there.
But I suspect it’s all for nothing.
Cheers!🙂

That aside, I think the headline is poorly conceived and just pure trolling.

Maybe try something like: "Why has the left embraced sexual liberation, and Identity Politics, and other minority groups?"

Or: "Why does the left lean so heavily into homosexual and other minority rights?"

briskpuma23 said:Honestly, I think the title is just poorly thought out and total clickbait.

Maybe try this instead: Why did the left decide to make sexual liberation, and identity politics their entire personality?

I can't even begin to deal with this right now. Seriously. Why does the left obsess so much over Left-wing Homosexuality and all those other minority rights?

Exactly the opposite.

The conservatives over in the States finally gave the green light to gay marriage.

Larry Walker24 said:actually, it’s quite the opposite

conservatives in the US just approved same-sex marriage

what do you mean conservatives? honestly, even the right wing has basically adopted the entire playbook from the Frankfurt School...

Sex Ed and politics being way too close This thread is about to hit its limit at 10,000 posts today. Honestly, I really hope they just keep this one locked down instead of opening a bunch of new ones, especially since we already have at least two other nearly identical threads floating around on this exact same topic.

Depends on how you look at it. ☕

Uh, uh, uh... you're getting your wires crossed here. 😁

Your conclusion that "today's social-democratic parties are desperate to brand themselves as champions of minority groups" is spot on, but your premises are totally wrong.

First off, most modern social-democratic parties are social-democratic in name only; in both theory and practice, they're mostly just liberal.

And second, it’s true that parts of modern socialist movements have internalized certain liberal ideas regarding gender and sexuality.

But none of that means socialism and liberalism aren't as different as night and day.

One more thing—claiming that sex is strictly an upper-class privilege is something you only say if you know absolutely nothing about ethnology. 😉
