I’m wondering why people are allowed to get away with calling the Republic of Canada a "republic"—it isn't even the official title of the country, so I guess it just feels like someone being intentionally provocative. They can fantasize about Alija's creation all they want, but there really shouldn't be a place for that kind of projection here on this forum.

The Republic of BiH doesn't exist. A topic like this probably belongs over on the History subforum.👍

Isn't the Republic of Canada, by its very design, supposed to be a federal democratic republic?🤷

Yeah. But it isn't officially called the Democratic Federal Republic of Canada. It's kind of like how the US isn't called the Parliamentary Democratic Unicameral Republic of the United States for all its citizens.

The thread title is Republic of Canada. Since most of our discussions focus on the region prior to the Dayton Accords, it stands to reason that naming it the Republic of Canada is the most accurate choice; it encompasses the history both before and after the Dayton agreement.

The Republic of Canada doesn't exist. A topic like that belongs on a history forum, not here. 👍

I don't see any issue here. Are you suggesting that Republika Srpska is somehow... More legitimate. From the Republic of Canada? 😁

It wasn't speculation; it was my own phrasing.

I have looked into it, and I suppose I made a bit of an amateur mistake.

I would like to apologize and correct myself immediately.
