Getting harassed by users on Reddit

On the Religion subreddit, Kitty is constantly harassing and insulting people—and frankly, the moderators in charge of that sub seem to be letting it happen, which is quite disappointing.
It seems fairly obvious that this individual might be struggling personally, but I suppose that doesn't give him the right to take his frustrations out on everyone else.
In just a very short amount of time, he has managed to clash with several different users; in fact, just during this afternoon alone, he somehow managed to churn out about ten posts filled with insults.
I am posting this here with the hope—perhaps a naive one—that some actual action will be taken, because previous reports have been met with either indifference or no response at all.

I did post it on the Religion sub-forum—under the main Religion section—but the mods haven't really responded, even though I noticed they were online—at least two of them, if not all of them, were active.
In the past, I (and several others, too) have used the report button, but usually, there's just no response—though, occasionally, a post might get deleted.
Essentially, it was mostly the inactivity of the moderators that led me to this point. This particular user is doing whatever they want, and the real issue, I suppose, is that these kinds of things are being permitted.

Monica and I could probably each drop three off-topic posts, "wrapped" in just enough personal jabs to avoid direct insults, plus maybe two or three provocative on-topic comments without using any actual swear words, and we'd both get an automatic three-day ban.

And that’s just on a standard US site. This is a Religion sub, which I feel should be moderated way more strictly than this.

If this repeated disrespect doesn't at least get flagged as a massive insult to everyone here, then I honestly won't have any clue what the criteria are for banning people, or how they define trolling versus just being rude or straight-up abusive on this Reddit. 🤷

I suspect the mods haven't even seen the reports yet, because whether they're being objective or biased, I just can't ignore this. 🙂 Just hang tight until tomorrow; I think everyone watching this will be keeping a close eye on how it plays out. In the meantime, please don't bother responding to those actual rude trolls and kids. 😉

Something similar is happening over on the Religion subreddit with posts from Nick Dominic01.

I honestly can't wrap my head around how it's possible for two entire pages within a single thread to be completely off-topic. I've been flagging these off-topic posts using the red icon, but even after waiting 48 hours since my report, none of the moderators have stepped in.

Nick Dominic01 has jumped into ten different threads to ramble about Alabama, his views on religious versus non-religious women, Americans in Canada, spinning wool, the Civil War, fishing, or some movie he watched this morning... all while the actual topic is something like "Jesus's resurrection"?! 🙄

So, I want to ask the moderators of the Religion subreddit and politely request an answer: why are they tolerating Nick Dominic01? I would say quite confidently that out of 100 of his posts, maybe five are actually relevant to the discussion, while the other 95 are off-topic, trolling, or outright insults. For example:

TOPIC: "Prophet Muhammad in Hell"
* Nick Dominic01 writes: how much he enjoys playing blackjack and roulette 😁
* Or he writes: that he is an American from Canada and isn't intimidated by Canadians
- In both instances, the moderators haven't responded to the reports, despite the posts being flagged.

TOPIC: "For whom was Jesus sacrificed on the cross?"
* Nick Dominic01 writes offensively: he psychoanalyzes and insults users without a single word relating to the topic,
- It's been several days now, yet the moderators haven't acted on the report, even though it was flagged.

TOPIC: "What was sacrificed on the cross?"
* Nick Dominic01 writes pure nonsense and trolls along the way
- The moderators have tolerated this off-topic behavior for over a week without reacting to the flag.

Out of the 3,613 visible posts currently up, I'd bet anything that at least 2,500 of Nick Dominic01's posts are off-topic, trolling, mocking, or openly insulting—or even inciting national or religious conflict (which is strictly forbidden by the Religion subreddit rules). Most of those 2,500 are just plain off-topic. I should also mention there are likely another 1,000 to 2,000 off-topic posts that were deleted without notice. Perhaps it's simply easier for the moderators to delete 20 or 30 of his off-topic comments every day rather than just once telling him to stay on subject.

There are a few other similar characters here, but I don't want to write a novel right now; I just wanted to point out the behavior of Nick Dominic01, whose posts are being tolerated against the rules, which means the moderators themselves are violating the rules by ignoring the reports. If the moderators actually followed the guidelines, the forum would be better, the discussions would be higher quality, and the atmosphere would improve. Isn't that what the moderators want? If they happen to be fond of Nick Dominic01, fine, but then they should just send him a private message and teach him how to stick to a topic. 🤷

I’ve already reported those posts, and if the moderators don't step in and issue warnings by this evening, then I definitely will. There are quite a few threads jumping between multiple topics here, so you really have to read through the entire discussion to make sure nobody gets penalized unfairly—plus, the mods are much more up to speed on what's actually going on anyway.

I want to jump in on this thread. I’ve personally dealt with some harassment from Kitty and Dominic01. I've been reporting their private messages constantly, but nothing seems to happen.

I have to add one more thing: whenever Dominic01 breaks a rule, his post gets deleted automatically within five minutes. My guess is there's a moderator protecting him, which prevents anyone else from stepping in to issue a warning or a ban.

I don't see any other way to explain why hundreds of my reports on posts and PMs just vanish into thin air.

The Religion Forum has become... Trolling, off-topic rambling, and straight-up insults. Enough already.
And let's see how some of the moderators over on the Religion subreddit choose to handle this.

She’s acting on Reddit as if she doesn't even have moderator privileges. She should probably just show us the fifteen bans she's handed out over the last thirty days—which would be one every two days, I guess. She didn't.

I suppose the moderator of the Islam-114 sub has gone on some sort of world tour. If they could just produce ten of the warnings they supposedly handed out over the last thirty days—which would be roughly one every three days—that would be great. But they don't have any.

The only one actually doing anything around here is Bluebird. Though, even they seem to let personal attacks and off-topic tangents slide every now and then—especially the off-topic stuff. I guess I don't really understand why they allow that to happen.

Daniel Ward87 finally stepped up today, and it looks like we actually have some results to show for it. 👍 My compliments regarding the cards he handed out. Here.When I saw that many reports pop up, I honestly thought the moderators had been replaced, so I clicked on one just to see who was handing out the sanctions. 😁 I wonder why this isn't being handled the same way in other instances. There are plenty of even more offensive posts on Reddit that haven't faced any consequences at all—and I suppose I’ll be able to prove that shortly.

For months now, I've been dealing with constant harassment, insults, and trolling from Anonymous_xy on this Reddit. About two weeks ago, I actually filed an official report in the Complaint book...LINKTo this day, none of the moderators have seen fit to give me a proper response regarding my complaint—not even a simple, "rowdyhawk10, your appeal is denied." Instead, the trolling and insults just keep coming without end. I am asking you all to please resolve this matter.

Rules that the Religion Forum moderators often seem to overlook:

The role of a moderator:

• Maintaining an environment that fosters constructive discussion.
• Maintaining equality and respecting the individuality of every single member...
• The realization of civilized standards and legal norms of conduct.

New topics need to actually fit the specific Reddit sub they are posted in; posts are meant to be discussion starters.

• Any off-topic threads or posts that don't align with the subject matter will be moved or deleted.
• Any blatant, frequent, or excessive off-topic posts will result in an "off-topic" warning.
• Vulgarity isn't exactly something I'd advocate for.

Making things personal is really never a good idea.

• Constantly stirring up conflict is generally considered trolling.
• It is particularly undesirable to engage in personal attacks or to go out of one's way to incite nationalistic, religious, or similar types of conflict.
• Personal analyses and specifically starting threads targeting other users on Reddit are strictly prohibited.
• Violating this rule will result in a "trolling" warning.

Any form of personal insults, disparagement, or discrimination against our members was strictly prohibited.

Anonymous_xy keeps violating all the rules by making fun of me and throwing insults my way. It seems like they turn every single thread into a personal vendetta. To make matters worse, I filed a report about this over two weeks ago, and I haven't heard a word back from the moderators. 😢

6. Just to illustrate, here are some instances from today alone showing how this one individual keeps trolling:

For instance, here, he is clearly violating the rules of the new sub-forum on Religion, and he's been doing it for months. Yet, the moderators haven't issued a single warning. Since we are dealing with the hundredth violation rather than just the first or second—and it's always coming from the same person—I have to ask: what is the reason for constantly tolerating this kind of behavior? Should I follow his uncivilized example and start flooding the main Christianity-1000 thread with nonsense, much like he has been doing in the Islam-114 thread for months? I suppose I could do that just to demonstrate how unproductive it is. Believe me, I have about 50,000 questions ready for them if necessary. 😁

Example 01 — today, he quoted my post from 2008 😲 just to belittle me in his thread title (calling me a "kid," even though I'm 51). This is happening in a thread meant for children's topics, titled: "Music enjoyed by Reddit users on Religion." That thread exists so everyone can share a link to a song they love and enjoy it with others... not so users can provoke one another in such a primitive way. Can you please get him off my back, or should I respond in kind so we both end up with a strike?

Example 02 — exactly the same thing; he's trolling another user... who happens to be around my age too... And get this!!! The topic is "What was sacrificed on the cross?"

I am fairly certain it is possible to find at least 50 similar troll posts from this individual within the last month alone.
I really don't want to post them all here, but if it's required, I will list them. The moderators seem to tolerate him. I wonder why they do that?

MISUSE OF SIGNATURE RULES (by the same person):
The user Anonymous_xy is falsely twisting one of my posts in his signature to draw a fake conclusion that "Muslim Shady admits Islam is a false religion". Looking at the context of that thread and the post he linked in his signature, it's clear I didn't say Islam is a false religion; I simply stated that the user Preacher said so in the post I was quoting (since according to him, all religions are false—specifically the Babylonian ones—except for his Jehovah's Witnesses). I told him that I wasn't interested in those false religions, such as Islam or Hinduism, but rather in the Christian stance on the Holy Communion (for example, regarding Protestants and such). I reached out to him because he is drawing a false conclusion in his signature and lying about me, yet he has refused to remove it.

I’m with Slim Shady on this one. The user Anonymous is basically just spamming off-topic nonsense in the religion subforum. I put them on my ignore list ages ago, but honestly, the mods should probably take a look.
