I’ve got a complaint regarding Sam Green73 too. 😁 When was the last time I actually complained about anything? Not since I ran into him. 😬

I’d appreciate it if the admins could find a moment to read the last page or two of this thread...

My grievance is about the frequent post deletions. It's starting to feel like biased moderation.
I don't want to comment on anyone else's business, so I'll just ask you to look at the specific post that was deleted from me.

He accused me of spinning the narrative and making sweeping generalizations. I responded, andβ€”poofβ€”it was gone. I provided arguments and did my best to be reasonable.

Beyond the fact that I can't figure out which rule I actually broke, the way the moderator engages in the debate is incredibly one-sided.
Is it just "because I said so" when a moderator claims you're spinning things? Am I not allowed to defend myself or clarify my stance in a normal, civil way if I happen to misinterpret something initially?
Since when was that banned?

Now, this wouldn't be such an issue if I didn't get the distinct impression he’s deleting posts specifically to maintain that bias.

So, I'm asking an admin or a supermod to take a look, judge the situation, and if you're feeling generous, judge my reasoning.
Please, just explain what was wrong with my response to a moderator who accused me of being biased and generalizing.
I just want to know for next time, so I can have a normal discussion and actually learn something.

This isn't my first issue with Sam Green73, but I haven't said anything until now. Didn't see much point in tilting at windmills. 😁

But now, it feels like something the administration should actually care about.
This is also the first time I've encountered such unprofessional moderation in the Politics section, where I usually participate quite a bit. Up until now, the mods and the rest of the team have been top-notch.

It honestly feels like he's just trying to use his authority to shut me down because he can't win the argument otherwise.

I don't get what's happening. Before he showed up, this thread was a fine place for discussion where everyone's views could be heard and everything was moderated properly.

For example, I’ll write that after the war near the Mississippi, most of the captured insurgents were actually recruited into the partisan brigades to form the East Coast unit. That’s a documented fact straight out of the memoirs written by commanders like Cholakov and those from the Sierra Nevada region... yet he just deletes it on me.

And this is all under the topic of controversial American history. So, good luck figuring out what you're allowed to say. If you post anything he doesn't like, he just wipes it away and bans you.

I caught it. I was watching.
There’s a massive difference between how you handle a troll and how you deal with someone who just wants to spin endless "what if" scenarios and alternative history rabbit holes. They require two completely different mindsets.
I’m going to clear out the clutter.

It’s the worst when they demand an explanation or proof for a claim... you take the time to respond, provide a link, and do the work... only for them to just delete it and ask for the explanation again.πŸ™„

If they don't like your explanation, they just wipe it out and sometimes hand out bans too.

It's a total circus.

On the flip side, they never ask for evidence from the other group. They can say whatever they want without any proof at all... people like Judolino, Marina Fima, and that whole crew... they can write anything they want and celebrate mass killings without anyone blinking.

Since this morning, he’s been deleting almost everything. I wrote to Bonislav about how this group uses double standardsβ€”when it comes to the Civil War, prosecuting crimes on our side is seen as noble and targeting honorable soldiers, but when that same thing happens during WWII, suddenly it's "historical revisionism."

And the guy just deletes it... wipes away everything that doesn't suit him.

Sam Green73, don't think I'm coming at you personally here, or that I'd be running to the admins about you.

Are we forum users constantly messing things up? Of course we are. 🀣
I'm no saint myself. I've had people call me out plenty of times for acting like a kid, jumping into a troll post just to comment, or getting sucked into an off-topic debate where we're actually being constructive 😁 but in the wrong place.

But look, please let there be a bit more breathing room in this thread so I can say this.
We're talking about controversies. Up until now, we've just been circling the same WWII topics over and over. In America, there are parts of that history that still bleed directly into politics today.
From politicians dragging it back up to the media outlets, etc.

It’s been fine so far, Sam. I get the impression you moderate this very strictly, but strict isn't always the answer... I don't know who was watching this thread before, but they balanced it perfectly. Kudos to the mods for putting in the work. πŸ™‚
I've been in this thread since the beginning. We've had some heated debates. 😳

So, Sam, adminsβ€”as a regular user, I'm asking you: give us a little more flexibility.
If you're the one running this thread, you aren't the only one feeling like the moderation is biased. One side gets that impression, and that's exactly why I'm posting here. 🀷

Maybe it isn't even bias, just extreme strictness. It all depends on your perspective. 😁

Just my two cents and a request from a regular member.

You can think what you want, but the guy earned 500 points from him becauseβ€”get thisβ€”this dude bragged about fighting on the wrong side and then called him a traitor.

When he asked for proof that the guy actually claimed to fight on the enemy side, the guy just linked posts where he admitted to fighting in Stalingrad for the opposing forces...

And what happened? Nothing. No response at all. The guy still got banned. It's totally Orwellian... everyone sees he was banned for no reason, yet he stays banned.

If they don't like your explanation, they just delete it and sometimes ban you too.

It’s a total circus.

And the other side doesn't have to show any evidence. They can ramble about whatever they want without a single scrap of proof.. Judolino, Kate Harris50, and that whole crew.. they can write whatever they feel like and celebrate mass killings, and nobody says a word.

Since this morning, he's deleted almost everything. When I wrote to Bonislav about how this group has double standardsβ€”how prosecuting crimes from the American Civil War side is seen as noble and clearing out dishonest soldiers, but applying that same logic to WWII is suddenly "historical revisionism"β€”

this guy just deletes it.. wipes away anything he doesn't like.

Now you've reminded me... metalHammer posted a link regarding civilian killings, specifically a link to a partisan document released by an archive. Kate Harris50 countered him with a link to foxnews.com, claiming it might not be accurate because, hey, foxnews.com says the victims were soldiers. A few pages later, Sam Green73:

Sam Green73 said:Who exactly are you expecting answers from?

Look, Kate Harris50 is actually researching this part of history.

If it weren't so sad, it would be funny. Honestly, it's just ridiculous.😁.

I don't usually weigh in on other people's bans, and I'm not starting now. I get that moderating isn't easy and mistakes happen. It's also obvious not everyone is going to agree with every call. Personally, I try to respect the mods, but I have to react here. Honestly, I can't remember the last time I felt this wayβ€”maybe back when BB and Marijana were around 😁. I think I rambled a bit about the moderation then too.

But seriously, it feels like we need to ask both the resonator's team and the admin to give us some breathing room on this thread. Everything was fine until the last few pages where things got a bit heavy-handed with the strictness.

Look, maybe we just don't see the full picture and the admins actually ordered this crackdown. All I'm saying is I hope they reconsider and hear us out. Otherwise, the discussion just dies, and there’s no real debate if we aren't allowed to clash, no matter how much of a controversy it might be. πŸ˜›

Gary Anderson38 said:Sam Green73, don't think I'm attacking you here, and I'm certainly not running to the admins about you.

Do users on this forum mess up? Of course we do. All the time. 🀣
I’m certainly not innocent either. I’ve had people report my posts plenty of times because I get too worked up over a troll or jump into an off-topic debate that actually turns out to be constructive, 😁 even if it's in the wrong place.

But please, let me say this on this thread: we need a bit more flexibility in our discussions.
We are dealing with heavy controversies here. We constantly circle back to the same WWII debates. In America, there are still parts of that history that shape political life today,
from politicians pulling old grievances to the media outlets fueling them.

Everything has been fine so far, Rez. My impression is that you moderate this very strictly, but strict isn't always better. I don't know who else has been watching this thread, but whoever it was did a great job balancing things. Kudos to the mods for the effort. πŸ™‚
I've been in this thread since the start. We've had some intense debates. 😳

So, Rez and the admins, as a fellow user, I'm asking for a little more breathing room.
If you're the one in charge of this topic, just know you aren't the only one noticing biased moderation. One side definitely feels targeted, and that's exactly why I'm posting this. 🀷

Maybe it isn't bias so much as being overly strict; it really depends on your perspective. 😁

Just my opinion and my request as a regular user.

I don't cause trouble, and I don't want to. I state my opinion, provide evidence, and argue my point. Making trouble isn't my style.

Yet, he still deletes my posts and issues warnings. He doesn't seem to follow any set criteria. He's totally biased and won't let anyone with a different view speak without removing them.

So there's no point in trying to split the blame; you won't achieve anything that way. The point is that certain users are being terrorized while everyone else can do whatever they want.

The proof is right there in this thread and others. People can choose to ignore it if they want.

Cracking down hard... that would mean both sides get moderated equally, not just one side.

You know exactly what the issue is, but there it is.
