cosmichawk12 said:Look, back in 2005, he was absolutely tearing it up. Even with that ten-place grid penalty, he was putting on the best drives on the grid, despite the fact that his car had the reliability of a cheap kitchen appliance from a dollar store.

He’s already had his car die on him three separate times while holding a commanding lead, and to top it all off, he's been losing wheels here and there.

Did I mention he was constantly getting slapped with a ten-place grid penalty just for swapping out an engine?

EDIT: I wouldn't agree with you if he weren't being so incredibly dull this season. The only thing that sticks in my mind is that business with the old man at Indianapolis. He just drives boringly, circling the track.

2005 was a complete disaster for him. He was basically driving with one hand tied behind his back. Looking back at that season, nothing stands out more than those qualifying laps at Indianapolis. Even with a penalty hanging over his head and a full tank, he still absolutely smoked Montoya to take pole.

That guy Kimi has been drinking heavily for a long time.

Honestly, enough with the constant trash-talking and belittling the drivers.
I’m seriously fed up with this nonsense. Consider this my final warning: knock it off.
😳

I truly don't get it. I can wrap my head around having different opinions on someone's skill behind the wheel—that's fine.👍
But calling world champions "nobodies"? Especially when we're talking about a driver who’s grabbed six podiums this season, scored points in 14 out of 15 races, and is the only one to actually finish every single race? Calling him a non-factor is just delusional...🤦
Seriously, what is wrong with you people? Do you honestly think your little darling is going to achieve anything meaningful if you spend all your time trashing his competitor in some random forum post? 🤦

Nathan Jones98 said:Even Alonso is basically doing the same thing as Kimi this year.
Just cruising around the track and crossing the finish line. Not much to see there.
But Alonso happened to have a massive stroke of luck to land in the championship lead, while Kimi had less on his side and ended up 3rd.
And just like Alonso, Kimi managed to pull in way more points than his teammate. So, no, Kimi isn't bad.

Hilarious.

Alonso is driving masterfully this season. He's overtaking on the grass, winning races by 10 seconds on tracks where passing is impossible... absolutely dominating in the rain...

It's everything Kimi used to do.

Seriously, what is wrong with you people? Do you actually believe your favorite will achieve anything special just because you spent a forum post trashing his competitor more aggressively.🤦

Why the sudden attitude? You're the first one ready to trash Alonso, and now you're playing the moralist?!

steelmaker83 said:What are you so worked up about? You’re the first one to trash Alonso, and now you're trying to lecture me on morality?!

Where exactly am I trashing Alonso?
If I say he got lucky because everyone else had issues, I'm saying it because I actually think he got lucky...
If I say I think he's worse than Lewis Hamilton or Sebastian Vettel in qualifying, I'm saying it because that's my opinion and the stats back it up.

And no, I won't be writing that he’s done nothing this season—🙄 actually, if I recall, I've said a few times now that I think he's having his best season yet.
I'm definitely not going to call him a "pseudo-champion," a fraud, or some total amateur.

Sure, you might see me writing glowing praise about how legendary Vettel was in USA.
But even then, I don't write it just because the competition fell apart. Even though I think he would've won anyway because the car was clearly perfect at Ford, I don't feel the need to claim Vettel was a god and everyone else was a disaster, a joke, a fraud, or an idiot.🙄

Am I trashing Alonso because of his start or what? Because I'm not.
Maybe I'm "trashing" him when I point out the fact, well before the first practice session, that his best qualifying result at Ford is 5th place, that he seemingly can't get the track right, and that he constantly runs into trouble there...
Is that "trashing"?

If I were actually a hater, after last race's results, I'd have plenty of ammunition to tear into Alonso. Go ahead, try and find a single post where I've actually gone on a rant against him.
Who knows, maybe you'll surprise me. If you actually show me where I'm wrong, I'll be sure to fix it...

I have zero intention of digging through your mile-long posts, but I’m assuming terms like "loser" or "coward" have already become standard insults in your book, so you probably don't even view them as offenses anymore...

Quick take on all this talk about Kimi potentially grabbing the title...

Anything can happen at this point...
Everyone seems to have written off the McLaren duo, but honestly, I wouldn't be shocked if they pulled something off...

Red Bull looked phenomenal in USA; actually, they looked totally dominant with plenty left in the tank.
But given how this season has played out and how fast the power balance shifts, nothing would surprise me—not even a dominant McLaren, Lotus, or even Ferrari showing up in the next few races...

I’ve got a feeling the teams just haven't gotten used to this new points system yet.🤷
There are still 125 points left on the table.😳

Even Button isn't out of the running with his 63-point deficit...☕
Two bad races for Vettel and Alonso and boom—the whole crew of Kimi, Hamilton, Button, and Webber could easily find themselves in a serious title fight heading into the last three races.😳

Let's say a somewhat crazy scenario...

South Korea:
Button - 25, Webber - 18, Hamilton - 15, Kimi - 12, Alonso and Vettel - out of points.

Standings:
01 Fernando Alonso 194
02 Sebastian Vettel 190
03 Kimi Räikkönen 169
04 Lewis Hamilton 167
05 Jenson Button 156
06 Mark Webber 152

India:
Button - 25, Webber - 18, Hamilton - 15, Kimi - 12, Alonso and Vettel - out of points.

Standings:
01 Fernando Alonso 194
02 Sebastian Vettel 190
03 Lewis Hamilton 182
04 Jenson Button 181
05 Kimi Räikkönen 181
06 Mark Webber 170

Three races left and everyone is within 25 points. Bernie's probably rubbing his hands together right now...
Impossible scenario?
Based on what we've seen so far, it looks like it...
but it's not exactly impossible or completely insane.

And I can't help but think Bernie might even cook something up like this just to send the viewership through the roof.😳

I don't use words like "wimp" or "crybaby."🙂
The only way you'll see me use something like that is if I'm calling out someone else for using it against Alonso or whoever else.
Because honestly, those names are just as stupid and ugly as the labels Alonso's fans throw around.☕

The only thing I ever wrote was "Alonso" with a typo once by mistake, and then everyone started using it, so I ended up using it for a while too.
As far as I'm concerned, nicknames like Vettel, Grandpa, Obrvan, or Kimi Räikkönen are just nicknames, not insults. As long as you can laugh at them—even if you actually support the driver—it's fine by me.🙂

How did this whole thing turn into such a complete circus? 🤦
I mean, people are actually acting offended just because someone let an F1 driver have it a little bit verbally. It’s honestly pretty wild if you think about it.

The issue isn't about insults—it's about why some get punished while others walk free.
For instance, I didn't lose any points when I said Mike was a complete scumbag, but apparently, calling Alonso a crybaby is a different story? Or saying Kimi's liver is shot? It's clearly just a matter of who the mods decide to throw a yellow card at today. Honestly, I'm sick of this selective enforcement. It’s a circus—you called it right, and the mods are the ones running the show.

Alonso reminds me so much of Prost back in his day—just in terms of his overall vibe, how he approaches a race weekend, that driving style and all that jazz—though I’d argue Alonso is actually more talented at squeezing every last drop out of a mediocre car, unlike Prost who pretty much always had the fastest machine on the grid at his disposal.

As for this season, everything has shifted completely. Red Bull has made huge strides lately—like, seriously improved over the last few weeks—so now Sebastian Vettel is the clear frontrunner, hands down. Alonso really needs to turn up the aggression during qualifying if he wants a decent spot on the grid; he’s gotta stay clear of those messy racing incidents (you know, like that mess he had with Kimi). Honestly, even Kimi isn't out of the running... you know how it goes, while the top two are busy fighting each other, someone else sneaks right past them.

Their job might actually be a bit easier because Lewis Hamilton has probably just checked out mentally by now, and Mark Webber signed a new deal only to see his performance tank. It looks like Sauber are the only ones with enough grit and motivation to actually shake things up... oh, and Button too.

I mean, I was totally fine with losing points when someone called Mike a complete scumbag, but is calling Fernando Alonso a crybaby really the same thing? Or saying Kimi Räikkönen’s liver is failing? It’s obviously not the same thing. Honestly, it feels like they just hand out cards and point deductions whenever they feel like it, and I'm pretty much over this whole selective enforcement nonsense. It’s a total circus, and you're right—the mods are the ones running the show here.

Don't take it too personally, maybe just try to find the fun in all this chaos.
Maybe it's just my weird sense of humor, but I actually find some of these trolls pretty entertaining.

The phrase "Alonso" is an absolute classic—it deserves some respect and shouldn't be censored or policed

And honestly, I have to agree with Jack Kelly5... it’s just plain foolish to go around hurling insults at your favorite drivers.
Sure, maybe some drivers are total crybabies compared to others? Definitely. And are certain drivers—let's face it—total party animals? They certainly are.

So, what are you actually going to do about it? 🤷

Austin Evans said:Amanda Kelly, claiming Alonso is at the top when it comes to driving culture while ignoring the absolute circus and disgrace he and his teammate Nelson Piquet pulled off in Singapore is just laughable. I’ve never been a huge fan of Alonso, but I always respected his talent. After Singapore, though, to me he’s just a petty gossip with questionable morals. If that's how he wants to play it, fine... but acting like he's some legend while downplaying his opponents is ridiculous. What's even the point of his greatness if he's only racing against amateurs and random "drivers" who just got lucky enough to grab a few points?

In those four lines, you've put ten lies in my mouth.
If you're going to lecture me, maybe try actually reading more carefully and paying attention first.

I’d have to agree with Jack Kelly5—it’s pure nonsense to take offense at nicknames used for your favorite drivers.
Are certain drivers total crybabies compared to others? Yes. Are some drivers known for hitting the bottle? Absolutely.

So what now? 🤷

Am I speaking Spanish here?

The real nonsense is persistently punishing INDIVIDUALS for this while letting others slide—that’s what bothers me, not the stuff you and Jack Kelly5 keep pushing.

I wonder—would you find it interesting if every time you called Schumacher the biggest loser in racing history, or labeled Alonso a crybaby, or threw any other insult at a driver, you got a warning—and three strikes meant a permanent ban? Then you could ask, "So what now?"

First time I've actually agreed with you on something.

The only thing globally, it feels like Kimi is the one being written off, not Hamilton.

But yeah, if Lotus finally brings that DDRS and Ferrari delivers a functional part, things would get interesting.
Ferrari had their moment of glory at Indianapolis—Alonso grabbed a trophy or something during qualifying, so he probably paid for it with the win.
McLaren was strong in Belgium and Singapore.
And Red Bull was a killer in USA (though they weren't bad in Singapore either).
Lotus is just always there, stuck right in the middle.

Beyond the cars, though, it’s about how the drivers handle themselves.
Out of the bunch, Kimi is definitely the coolest head—I don't think any championship math would rattle him even 2%.
Hamilton is hungry for a win, but the question is whether McLaren will actually let him have it.
As for Button, I think he's basically written himself off.
Alonso? He doesn't really care deep down, especially since he lost a ton of points once due to someone else's mistake.
Vettel—if he’s got a beast of a car until the end, he's champion; otherwise, he isn't.
Webber pretty much gave up on himself after Silverstone.

Bernie's ideas are always out of this world—I wouldn't be surprised if we see another Goodyear lottery with identical tires and other nonsense.

I wonder if you'd find it quite interesting if every single time you called Schumacher the absolute bottom-feeder of Formula 1, or labeled Alonso a total crybaby, or threw any other insult at a driver, you were slapped with a warning—and after three strikes, you're gone from the site entirely—would you still be sitting here asking "well, what now?"

I was actually referring to Jack Kelly5's post and that one from TBF1D where they discuss using derogatory nicknames for drivers... I wasn't addressing you specifically. And honestly, I actually agree with the point you made.

And didn't you personally call Raikkonen an autist?
What else did I supposedly make up? It sounds like you just misread me. Not every insult thrown at Raikkonen in my post came from my mouth—some of those remarks were coming from other people in the Ferrari camp.
