Quote: Thomas Jane would have been a much better fit for the role.

So I finally caught this movie last night—honestly, it was pretty great! It’s just totally packed, you know? Like, non-stop action mixed with some really solid humor. My only real gripe is that instead of that "samurai" guy (you know, the one 😁 mentions in
Fast and Furious), I really think

I mean, I definitely agree that TJ would've nailed it, but honestly, what we got isn't half bad either.

Man, that's exactly why I'm planning on catching the Escape plan in theaters. 😬

Man, what does this even look like? It’s a total train wreck, honestly, just like Mickey Rourke's career—maybe even worse if we're being real.
But look, putting that aside, the movie itself is actually pretty watchable, mostly because you've got an old pro like Walter Hill behind the camera.
WH went with a solid, tried-and-true concept instead of trying to reinvent the wheel, and honestly, that was the smartest move for a guy like Stallone.
I mean, don't get me wrong, we still had to sit through Stallone’s typical cheesy poses and that "tough guy" posturing he does—he just had to leave his mark, right? ☕ That's really my only gripe. His acting feels a bit watered down, but everything else? Pretty standard, professional stuff.

The action is raw, though. No cheap CGI crap, just good old-school effects and explosions, which is something you barely see anymore. It gets a little over-the-top for my taste, a bit too much "look at me," but whatever, it's a high-octane flick and I can roll with that. And Mammohet is a killer choice for the villain.
