Kevin Cox said:And what about you, rich guy John Perez13? What are you doing with the audio? Are the cameras just garbage and unreliable, or are you intentionally cranking the sound until it clips just so it sounds louder?
By the way, I have nothing to say about the struggle.
John Perez13 said:Sound is its own entire philosophy when you're working with video. Anyone who’s ever taken classes at a local film club or attended a major film academy knows that. There are specific semesters dedicated entirely to visual techniques, and then there are others focused solely on audio. Even the software side is split—you use one set of tools for editing footage and an entirely different suite for mastering sound. Most consumer-grade cameras are pretty basic; they have very little headroom. If you hit them with more decibels than they were designed to handle, the audio just clips and dies. It’s a lot like cranking up the volume on your car speakers to the absolute max—eventually, you’re going to hear that distortion and realize you're about to blow the speakers out. That’s exactly why professional setups require dedicated amplifiers, limiters, and filters. For serious work, high-end microphones can easily run you several thousand dollars. Honestly, I just can't justify spending that kind of money on a camera. 😁
