Tesla, World Leader (2012)

Haha, that’s what happens when people who don't have a clue try to act like experts. And I’m not even talking about people with engineering degrees—I mean even folks with basic vocational training could see through this, but apparently, there aren't even any sensible defenders left to speak up.
Honestly, instead of making a whole movie about it, they should just dedicate an extended episode to this on MythBusters.

He certainly had strong women in his life, but I agree—Megan Fox doesn't fit here. She doesn't suit the role of a mother, nor a platonic friend from America. He had a few brief flings with young women, but I highly doubt they'd hire Megan Fox just to play them.

The special effects will have to be top-tier if they intend to recreate those presentations with all the spectacle he used to pull off. Using actual machinery from that era would likely be too complicated for a modern set, so they'll probably just lean on CGI.
Based on the records left behind, his demonstrations looked like pure magic to people back then. The man was as much a showman as he was a scientist. His only real downfall was that he wasn't a businessman.

Tesla deserves a full-blown Hollywood blockbuster. Sure, you see him popping up in documentaries or getting a quick cameo in some TV series, but that just doesn't cut it. It feels like the world still hasn't given Tesla the respect he actually deserves. 🤷

The documentary is garbage. If they weren't going to tell the actual truth, they should have just kept their mouths shut. According to this, Tesla failed because he was crazy, rather than because he crossed J. P. Morgan and the other power players of that era.

When he closed that deal with Westinghouse, he should have been set for life. From what I gathered in the documentary, they only mentioned how Westinghouse fell deep into debt, and if I'm reading this right, Tesla just decided to be the bigger person and walk away from the contract to help them out.

They didn't go too far off track, but you have to give them credit for clearly illustrating what kind of mess the world would be if we relied on Edison's power plants every mile or so. Such an infrastructure would be obscenely expensive, wouldn't it? In reality, only massive metropolitan hubs like New York City could ever dream of affording that kind of luxury.

Tesla's obsession with pigeons is one of those well-documented quirks that shows up in basically every biography I've ever picked up. It wasn't what ruined him, obviously, but you can't deny he ended his life in a pretty grim state—lonely, broke, and completely lost. 👎

Look, the guy didn't fail because he gave up those royalties. Whenever people start talking about how he ended up, they pivot to his eccentricities and eventually focus on the pigeons as if that were the main point. It makes him look like some sort of lunatic. That phase of his life happened long after he had already lost his fortune. By then, he was just working on theories because he lacked the capital to actually run experiments.
But before that, once he made his mark with AC, he moved on to developing other inventions that, looking back, might have been even more vital to us than AC was a century later. That is where he truly hit rock bottom; his business partners realized early on that continuing to back him would cost them more than they stood to gain.

Yeah, they completely glossed over his vision of providing free, universal power to everyone. This whole documentary is split into four segments titled "history of electricity," so it wasn't even really a film about Tesla. They barely mention him at all—maybe thirty minutes out of the entire runtime if you're being generous?

I always assumed he was a more rational guy, rather than someone prone to all this superstition.

Regarding Tesla, the Emperor of the World, an article on CNN suggests we ought to be looking at the entirety of Tesla's life instead of just obsessing over his rivalry with Edison.

This is going to be a real spectacle, especially with Bale still playing a role. 😍

I see there is also talk regarding that film featuring George Clooney playing Tesla, focusing on his inventions and his supposed communications with extraterrestrials. I suppose this brings me back to what I previously suggested about how they might handle the portrayal of Tesla. 🤣
Given that Disney is involved in this production, I guess it isn't particularly surprising that they would choose to distort such a significant historical figure.
If Fox is capable of turning Abraham Lincoln into some sort of vampire hunter, then I imagine it is entirely possible they could turn Tesla into... 😁
