Forum page loading speeds

Why is this forum loading so slowly?
Sometimes my connection gets really laggy and I can't even get the site to open.
I guess there’s nothing that can be done about it?

That’s the thing, though. I’m actually writing this from Vietnam right now. My connection is decent most of the time, but sometimes it gets so slow that posting on this forum is basically impossible.
And what's the issue?

So what kind of connection are you running in Vietnam? What are your actual speeds right now? 🤷

I'm using a 3G USB stick at the moment, and since I've got a 3G network, it's actually fine.
Maybe if things go wrong, I'm stuck with satellite internet that feels like dial-up.

I’m honestly not sure if that’ll even be enough to help him. I’ve got a bad feeling about this—if we're talking dial-up speeds, he's going to be stuck in the stone age...

Try setting the number of posts per page to the absolute minimum—I think it’s 20.

There is absolutely zero chance that any website is going to load at a decent speed on 56k these days.
Take this forum, for instance—when everything is running smoothly, it pops up pretty quick enough, but the second you try to pull off anything remotely heavy, the whole thing just chokes and dies.
Hey admin, I’m starting to worry you might have to redesign the entire site just so people can actually use it while hanging onto a shaky 3G signal out in the middle of nowhere.

Finally got some tips on how to speed things up.👍
It sucks when I can't actually post anything; I guess the site loads enough to view stuff, but trying to write a post takes forever.😢
When I'm traveling abroad, my favorite thing to do is check out the forum and catch up on my subscribed threads. 😍
So, yeah, it's pretty hard not to stop by the forum every now and then. 😁
