Unless we get at least three clubs that actually give a damn, our whole scene is basically dead in the water. The New York Yankees vs. Los Angeles Dodgers thing isn't even a real rivalry anymore—which means the fan clashes are pretty much non-existent too. San Francisco? Forget about it. It used to be a real deal against Indianapolis and their fans, but now Indy is just a pit stop, kind of like some random town in Ohio. I’m hoping San Francisco steps up their game soon—if they do, maybe the Yankees and Dodgers will follow suit, and then you'll actually have three sets of die-hard supporters clashing. Maybe some random guys from John Doe or John Doe will just show up by accident, and hey, suddenly we might actually have something worth watching.

There was a time when people would travel to see the Los Angeles Dodgers play the New York Yankees—real fans, regular folks—they'd show up at the stadium or head to a friend's house for a watch party, turning it into a whole event. Nowadays? People just wave off the Dodgers. They don't give a damn. First off, I have to talk about that message from the Black and Gold—honestly, it was the most fascinating part of the whole derby for me. It’s a pretty clever little message if you assume it was cooked up by thirty local elementary schoolers on a special curriculum, but hey, who knows? Maybe that’s exactly what happened. And as far as I'm concerned, that agency was never anything to be proud of, though look, I really shouldn't get into your business here.

Our turnout was solid, though I actually expected an even bigger crowd; seeing those numbers caught me a bit off guard. One cop actually said to me yesterday, "It's not that we're short on buses, it's that there are just too many of you."
And man, I swear, every single person in Washington, D.C. was heading in during the second half...

The pyro show was incredible on both sides of the pitch. Since I didn't get in until halftime, I can only say that I wasn't super impressed with the chanting in the second half, but it is what it is.

Next up is San Francisco. I've got this nagging feeling that the Red Army is going to bring way more energy than our guys did at the derby...
