So, I’m currently using a Logitech MX Revolution mouse. I’ve got the USB receiver ready to go, but I’ve basically got a four or five-day window to DIY a charger for this thing before the battery completely dies on me. 😁

Does anyone have any bright ideas for this? My initial plan was to repurpose an old phone charger that puts out 5V at 890mA, but what I actually need is a steady 4.1V at 800mA.

Since anything over 4.2V is totally out of the question—I really don't want to overcharge the battery and risk it leaking or exploding—what’s the best way to step that voltage down to exactly 4.1V (give or take 0.05V)?

Also, would it make a difference if the current was around 700mA instead?

Any help at all would be much appreciated! 😁

I'd probably just toss together a regulator using an LM317 and a couple of resistors... Easy enough. Just make sure you slap a decent heatsink on that LM317.
