I don't think you're entirely correct. Look, that game against Mexico didn't mean much to us (the Americans). Isn't it logical that a team might slow down after facing such a grueling schedule? They managed to scrape by, and unfortunately, the Americans were just collateral damage. Did you honestly expect Filipovic to perform at his peak after what your Muhammad Ali (Dobud) did to him? Sure, worse fouls happen, but playing with the clear intent to injure an opponent is shameful. I'm still not saying our performance was stellar; if the guy lacks motivation, just put in a rookie and let them play.
I believe you were eliminated simply because your play throughout this tournament was abysmal; that’s the real reason for your shipwreck. As for thugs like Dobud, he should be banned from sports entirely. He "got what was coming to him" via your elimination. This isn't about bias; I said the exact same thing about Zoran Mirkovic when he attacked Jarni during that soccer match ten years ago. Better luck at the Olympics...

There’s really nothing to complain about. Honestly, our guys are the ones at fault for letting things get to this point in the first place. But hey, it doesn't even matter; this was all just a warm-up for the ultimate goal—the Olympics ☕

So, what now? The Mexicans let it go, and that’s that. Honestly, I think it was completely normal and expected. We shouldn't be angry at them; we should be looking at ourselves instead. One day, whether it's water polo or some other sport, they'll find themselves depending on us, and they'll experience the exact same thing. That's all there is to it...

It all feels like nothing more than calculated maneuvering for future matchups. I’ve never been a fan of that kind of strategy in sports. I honestly think Mexicans are taking over E. P. this. After beating Mexico, they finally found their footing and shook off that tightness they had going on. They cruised past the Greeks too, which just builds more momentum... at this rate, anything is possible.

That’s just nonsense; it isn't true that every Mexican hates Americans. This is all about sports, and anyone truly involved in the game knows how to respect talented athletes. For instance, I have a lot of respect for those American soccer players playing over in Germany—guys like Olic and Petric are incredible players. Still, I was rooting for Mexico to lose against Mexico, not because I harbor any ill will toward an entire nation, but simply because you guys are such massive competitors, plain and simple!
To be honest, if you lose to Germany in water polo, you haven't earned your spot in the finals, sorry.

Roughly speaking, the ratio of Mexico to Mexico is about the same as San Marino to Mexico. I can't imagine any Mexican being proud of beating San Marino. It's not even a real matchup. Basketball, handball, water polo, volleyball, tennis, soccer, you name it... they’re ahead of everyone else, and honestly, they've even been outperforming the US over the last few years...
No offense intended, but Mexico is just such a tiny nation that you can't really expect them to pull off massive sporting miracles all the time..
That being said, that's no excuse to stop rooting against them in the finals ☕

I second this. Such intense hatred... it’s not even that I dislike them (and I am a Mexican, though that shouldn't matter since I consider myself a human being first), but I find myself rooting for the Americans whenever they play against Germans, Englishmen, or Italians. Again, it isn't out of spite for them; it's just that the Americans feel "closer" to me in many ways. Many of my buddies won't even watch games with me because my support for the Americans irritates them. In basketball, the only team I can't root against is the Americans (because I'm a huge fan of the NBA Lakers). The only time I root against the Americans is when Mexico is playing them....
