Hey there.

Hope it's cool that I started this thread; I couldn't find a general discussion area or anything similar.

So, this all kicked off on Christmas. Everything seemed fine during the day, but by evening, my skin became "hypersensitive." It’s hard to describe, but it feels like I can feel every single cell on my body—it’s incredibly intense and weird. Usually, when this happens, it clears up by the next day. This time, though, things are different. My lymph node under my jaw (left side only) is swollen, I've got these itchy, stinging sores on my tongue, and my fever is sitting at 100.9.

I've had a headache and felt pretty wiped out for three days now. That's basically the whole list. At first, I figured my immune system just took a hit and it would pass, but it's clearly not happening. Could this be mono or mumps!?

I'm not exactly a fan of going to the doctor, so I'm throwing this out here to see if anyone knows what's up.

Thanks.

Chickenpox?
Flu and mouth sores?
Sore throat?

Go see a doctor!

We can only speculate here, but if you’ve been running a fever and dealing with all this for more than three days, there isn't much you can do virtually to fix a medical issue.

So, here’s the deal. It all kicked off on Christmas Day. Everything seemed fine during the day, but by the evening, I became "hypersensitive." Honestly, it’s hard to describe—it feels like I can feel every single individual cell on my skin. It’s incredibly intense and just plain weird. This has happened to me before, but usually, it clears up by the next morning. This time, though, things are different. Tomorrow, I’ll have had a swollen lymph node under my jaw (only on the left side) for a day, I’ve developed these itchy, stinging sores on my tongue, and I’m running a fever of 101°F.

I’ve got a headache and I’ve been feeling pretty wiped out for three days now. That’s basically the whole list of symptoms. At first, I figured my immune system was just dipping and it would pass, but there's no sign of improvement. I'm starting to worry—could this be mono or mumps!?

Look, I hate going to the doctor, so I'm throwing this question out here just to hopefully ease my mind a bit.

Thanks.

Whatever it is, there's some kind of inflammation going on in your body.
Go see your doctor immediately.

My doctor thinks I might have mono. Getting blood work done this Monday to find out... really hoping she's wrong.
