So, it's Christmas and everyone is out celebrating with their families, and I assume the mods are doing the same. I get that they probably have a ton of real-life stuff going on during the holidays, but one thing is bothering me. Why is it that when they finally show up, they don't even bother reading the reports I sent about obvious trolling and users being straight-up abusive? I guess maybe things are just starting to unravel. It feels like everything is falling apart. So they're actually reacting to them now? It’s more than obvious that this has been happening for quite some time. I guess.

Why is this kind of verbal abuse being tolerated? People are just flat-out insulting one another here. I'm quoting them directly:
I guess maybe there’s some truth to what Patrick Miller3 said. It feels like we’re just circling the drain at this point. Just my two cents, I suppose.
I guess it’s just all nonsense. Maybe. said:And until then, seriously, don't be such a pain. You're honestly exhausting, like some kind of endless headache.

I guess maybe things are just falling apart. Everything feels like a mess right now. says:
I’m not even going to bother telling you what an idiot you are. But you probably already get that.

I guess it’s just a mess. Maybe everything is just falling apart. says:
If anyone around here actually deserves to be called a total loser, it’s definitely you. I guess. Look, you just don't get that this kind of stuff simply CANNOT be allowed to happen. I mean, do you actually hear what I'm saying, or is your brain already completely fried from obsessing over engines? Maybe you just can't process it anymore.

I guess maybe some people just refuse to look at the facts. It’s honestly frustrating how much nonsense gets pushed as truth these days. I don't know. It's all just ridiculous.
I'll look for the evidence myself. I think I already told you how I plan to go about it.
I guess you'll have to make the exact same one you're suggesting we do. I guess you're just really behind the times with your knowledge. Maybe. Technology has moved so far ahead that even the birds on the fence line seem to have learned a different tune, yet somehow, you still haven't caught on. I guess.

I guess maybe there’s some truth to what @FojumRvacka was saying earlier. It just seems like everything is being manipulated lately. I don't know.
I guess I’ll just go ahead and ramble on. Maybe. said:I guess you just don't get it, do you? If you’re dealing with health issues, maybe you should just say so, instead of acting like I'm being difficult for no reason.

I guess I'll just sit here and wait. Maybe that's the plan. said:Maybe once you actually gain a little sense, you'll understand what I'm talking about. But honestly, I doubt it.

dirindaj said:It's honestly pathetic that you're posting here on the forum when, from what I gather, you're an American and today is your biggest holiday, yet you chose to come here just to pick a fight with me and try to prove some miserable theory born out of a sick ego, andthat isn't my issue, it's yours and everyone stuck dealing with you.

dirindaj said:I don't know if you're just that narrow-minded or what.

dirindaj said:Your old man is trolling you, kid, so get it through your head. I can have a normal conversation with actual adults, which you clearly haven't been and never will be.

So, seriously, does this not deserve even a single warning? 🤷

Moderator Carol Lopez23 just said enough back-and-forth and that any further arguing would result in a ban. My question is, why weren't the posts written before his warning sanctioned after I reported them? Is blatant disrespect allowed on the alternativa sub-forum? I guess I’ve been warned for much less, yet dirindaj—who is obviously just some malicious clone given their registration date and post count—gets absolutely nothing. I'd like some answers, thanks.

I used to spend a lot of time posting on this sub-forum back when I had my old handle—one I don't use anymore. It was always an interesting space for me because you had actual science and hard data clashing head-on with alternative theories (just look back at the observations geze used to drop in various threads)
.
And let's not forget the fascinating work of delije, with those "monads" of his—all those graphic breakdowns trying to map out the connection between the supernatural, the natural world, and where science meets its fringe limits.

Back then, the crowd interested in the fringe stuff included plenty of highly educated people, like mandragore and others. But nowadays? It’s nearly impossible to explain the supposed existence of Chemtrails to someone studying at MIT or any other top-tier engineering school.

It isn't right to insult someone just because they lack basic physics knowledge—though, I get why people snap sometimes. It’s exhausting when you spend ten pages explaining that 2+2=4, only to have someone insistively argue that 2+2 is actually 22.

All in all, it’s a tough sub-forum for any moderator to manage.

@mistyhound94/">@@mistyhound94: None of those quotes you mentioned are enough to get someone banned on their own. I agree the overall vibe is negative, though. Let the user gamble with that warning from the Democratic Party.

@Patrick Miller3/">@@Patrick Miller3: Thanks for understanding.

Hold on a second, are you kidding me right now? 😕

I honestly can't wrap my head around what’s happening on this forum or how they allow people to straight-up INSULT others. I guess does someone have to drop heavy profanity before it actually counts as harassment? 🤷

So, let me get this straight—am I just allowed to call everyone else idiots, morons, or ego-maniacal fossils? Is that just fine now?

It's honestly pathetic.

Every single sub-forum operates on its own wavelength, and every moderator brings their own particular brand of chaos to the table—not to mention some users are just... uniquely eccentric. There isn't some grand, unified rulebook governing this place. In one corner, a citation like this could easily net you 500 points, while in another, you’d walk away with absolutely nothing. Just deal with it.

I certainly understand that during this season they have their own real-life responsibilities to attend to, but one particular matter weighs heavily on my mind. Why is it that when certain reports I submit regarding blatant trolling and outright insults from users like dirindaj surface, they seem to be ignored by the mods? It is more than apparent that this behavior has been ongoing for quite some time.

Why is the verbal abuse of other members being permitted, specifically using language such as, I quote:

In short, does none of this warrant even a single warning card? 🤷

The moderator Carol Lopez23 simply noted that the bickering had gone far enough and that any further continuation would result in a ban. My question remains: why were the posts written prior to that warning not sanctioned after I reported them? Is blatant disrespect actually permissible within the alternativa sub-forum? It seems to me that I have received warnings for much milder infractions, yet dirindaj—who appears to be a malicious clone given his registration date and post count—receives absolutely nothing. I am looking for answers, thank you.

You see the dilemma, my dear mistyhound94... It is a classic catch-22. If you are strict, you are accused of being a dictator who stifles free speech; if you are lenient, you are criticized for being ineffective. When the situation inevitably escalates, Carol Lopez23 will step in to wipe the slate clean and hand out warnings, and then a new thread will surely pop up on the PŽK board complaining about how the moderators are driving people away from the forum. 🙂

We shall wait and see how this unfolds. Ultimately, someone will have to swallow their pride.

Once things escalate, Carol Lopez23 will just wipe everything clean and hand out bans, and then a new thread starts on the PŽK about how the moderator is driving people away from the forum. 🙂

We’ll just have to wait and see what happens next. I suppose someone will eventually have to swallow their pride.

Why shouldn't you be strict? Why let that kind of discussion happen in the first place? 🤷 Dammit, a guy can just insult people without any consequences or derail a topic—which shouldn't even be a top thread—into something else entirely. I mean, are we really going to let clones and trolls ruin threads and disrespect people?

You have to nip this in the bud immediately so it doesn't happen again, even if it means handing out bans. I don't run from a ban; if I earned it, I earned it. But letting someone get away with insults? I just don't get it. I have absolutely nothing against you personally, but by doing this, you're showing all those clones and trolls that insulting others is fine, and they'll only be punished starting now. It's honestly embarrassing that this is allowed, instead of setting clear rules from the start where trolling, off-topic rambling, and insults are strictly penalized.

Btw, this doesn't even look like a real discussion anymore; it looks like a disgusting attempt at trolling and poisoning a thread that lacks any basis in natural science anyway, where trolls can just throw out fake evidence to mislead people. There is zero proof that Chemtrails exist, so any further debate on that thread trying to prove they do is just an empty exercise—basically just a repetitive cycle of posts that dirindaj likes to churn out. ☕

Why do you hesitate to be firm? Why allow such a specific style of discourse to take root in the first place? 🤷 It is truly disheartening to witness how an individual can resort to personal insults without facing even a shred of accountability. They seem quite intent on derailing the conversation, steering a discussion that shouldn't even be elevated to a top-tier topic into completely irrelevant territory. One has to wonder: will we simply stand by and allow these various clones and trolls to dismantle our discussions and disrespect fellow participants with such impunity?

I allow it up to a certain point, much like the other moderators do.
Why hasn't this been elevated to a Top Topic status? It’s already garnering significant attention, people are actively contributing, and the engagement levels are steadily climbing.

mistyhound94 As stated by:
We really need to nip this behavior in the bud immediately if we want to prevent a recurrence, even if that means handing out bans like candy. Personally, I have no issue with being banned myself—if my actions warrant it, then I’ll take the penalty squarely on the chin—but I simply cannot wrap my head around why someone should be allowed to get away with outright insults without consequence. Please understand, I hold no personal grudge against you, but by letting this slide, you are essentially sending a signal to every clone and troll lurking in the shadows that verbal abuse is acceptable. From this point forward, such conduct must be met with strict discipline. It is truly a disgrace that this is tolerated at all; rather than allowing such incidents to occur, we ought to establish clear-cut rules from the very beginning, ensuring that every instance of insult, trolling, or off-topic derailment is met with decisive punishment.

Members of this forum frequently tend to dance along the edge of propriety, carefully wrapping their provocations in velvet gloves to maintain plausible deniability. Consequently, one must exercise a certain degree of discretion and poise when engaging here.

mistyhound94 As expressed by:
To be perfectly honest, this no longer feels like a legitimate debate led by serious thinkers; rather, it has devolved into a distasteful attempt at trolling and poisoning a discussion that lacks any actual scientific foundation. It’s a situation where bad actors can simply toss out various pieces of quasi-evidence to mislead people, which is quite unfortunate. There is absolutely no proven evidence that Chemtrails exist, so continuing to argue about their existence is nothing more than an empty exercise. It serves no purpose other than to facilitate the endless stream of repetitive posts that Patrick Miller3 seems so fond of churning out. ☕

That is precisely why we call this the alternativa.

Keith Gonzalez said:I allow it up to a certain point. Just like the other mods.
Why isn't it a TOP topic? People visit it, they write in it, they follow it.

But where is that limit? I see it's perfectly fine to call others idiots, fools, or backward—that's clearly allowed. So, I guess the only thing we can't do is swear too crudely. 🤷

Users here often "dance on the edge," wrapping their provocations in gloves. So, one needs to be careful there as well.

True, everyone does it, myself included, but I don't resort to insults. That’s the whole point, I suppose. 🤷

That's why it's called alternativa.

So, what, I can just take some time, whip up a few documents in Photoshop, and present them as proof? Is that the essence of alternativa? The thread about Chemtrals, much like the actual Chemtrails, has been debunked by plenty of evidence and facts. Honestly, the topic just spins in circles. Every time someone shows up, they post something, and then someone else has to explain everything from scratch all over again while fighting off trolls and clones, which this forum is practically crawling with. The thread should be locked, and a new one created containing all the pro and con posts from the old one, making sure to emphasize reading the first two posts. Any unanswered questions should go in the new thread, and any repetition should be penalized to solve the issue once and for all. It just takes will, and I'm pretty sure none of you mods actually have the desire to do that or turn it into a TOP topic.
Right now, that thread makes no sense as a TOP topic, because then you could just pick a few highly read threads and move them to the top. Besides, when the Chemtrails thread wasn't a TOP topic, it sat inactive for ages, only to be revived every single time a clone shows up to start trolling, forcing us to redo everything yet again because nobody will just close it. You've got a suggestion, but I seriously doubt anything will actually happen with it. ☕

..it’s increasingly looking to me like some people have a serious ego problem. ☕

You can't expect everyone to be an expert on basic physics or chemistry.
There is no need to act superior—patrolling the NRZ or alternativa subforums just to lecture others—and pretending you have all the answers.

In the real world, we all exist as individuals, and I honestly don't get why someone who barely scraped by in high school science would try to explain fundamental laws of nature to anyone else!?

..everyone is entitled to their own opinion, especially on the alternativa boards, where the whole concept is designed to allow for unconventional or even wild ideas—ideas that might seem completely logical and natural to the person holding them.

..when someone from the alternative section tries to explain a topic through an alternative lens on the natural science board, believe me, they get shut down fast. They get banned, and the moderators there are incredibly intolerant toward anything they deem "unscientific"—even though a handful of them are busy being bigots while the rest are just high schoolers or students at places like MIT or Caltech.

...the very name "natural science" is misleading, because it makes these kids feel like actual scientists just because they're posting there. 🤣

...I view any web forum as a form of entertainment; you might find some smart advice or insightful posts, but ultimately, it’s up to each individual to decide what they actually need.

A well-known regular, a "temporarily suspended" moderator from the PZ board, was actually banned from the fringe science section because he took it upon himself to play messiah—trying to "enlighten" users he viewed as rude, ignorant, or crazy.
He was relentlessly insulting people, and for a long time, they let him get away with it.
On the alternativa boards, trying to explain phenomena using "scientific methods" is a lost cause—you have people who don't believe we ever went to the moon, people who believe in hexes, people who think energy healers can cure cancer, or that chamomile cures depression.
You can't fight those beliefs with scientific evidence; most scientific knowledge isn't set in stone forever, nor are these specific methods scientifically verified—besides, this isn't a forum dedicated strictly to SCIENTIFIC facts.

The alternative subforum should stay exactly as it is. From what I see, the moderators are quite tolerant, which I respect—pulling the trigger on every little thing is just counterproductive.

I remember the excellent moderator @danaye, who maybe issued one red card and ten yellows in an entire year while overseeing that section.

He deleted plenty of posts, but that's just part of the heavy lifting involved.

Best regards,

I just had to jump on here because I honestly can’t wrap my head around the fact that one of the moderators actually looked me in the eye and claimed that none of the quotes from the original post in this appeal even warrant a ban.

I mean, seriously people, where is this forum even heading? 🤦

It’s clearly not enough to just have a conversation anymore; we apparently need to sit them down and give them a masterclass on what moderation actually means, and maybe teach them how to tell the difference between someone sharing an opinion and someone being outright abusive.

I am requesting confirmation from the forum moderators regarding whether the statements made in the initial post are considered bannable offenses or not.
I have frequently wanted to call someone a fool, a loser, or an idiot, but I restrained myself, fearing such language would lead to sanctions. 🤷

I don't mind being called an idiot. But if I'm going to be insulted, I expect the right to call someone else one in return. 😁

So—am I allowed to call an idiot an idiot without getting banned for it?

Does what Daniel Ward87 wrote mean that kind of language isn't allowed? He wasn't exactly descriptive; he just stated the problem would be resolved. How, though? 🤷

Look, I was under the impression this forum was a place where people could speak their minds without being overly polite, but fine. If you want to keep it up, go ahead—though judging by the recent posts in the PDF, I’ll be flagging anything containing those specific terms. Just don't come crying to me about moderator crackdowns later.

Kimberly White63 said:Fine, I was under the impression this forum allowed for a bit more edge in the discussions, but whatever. It’ll probably stay this way until I get through all the recent posts on the PDF, but I guess I'll just report every single post that uses those terms. Just don't come crying about moderator overreach later.

I won't be the first one complaining if I get flagged for trolling, spamming, or being rude, but I don't get why someone can insult me and walk away scot-free. I've already learned there are certain things I just can't say without being labeled a troll, even though that guy is doing it constantly. So, I guess this isn't really "moderator repression," it's just an attempt to establish some semblance of order before this turns into a total free-for-all. If we don't nip this in the bud now, we're going to see way more bans and warnings than we do currently. Better to cut it off at the root than let it spiral out of control.☕

...God help us... just a small observation that might also speak to someone's general level of awareness (we should probably add "awareness" to the subcategory 😁)...

Look, it's obvious that no matter how hard the moderators try to make the scope look decent, there will always be critics and reasons to complain... I’m all for a more open discussion, provided the participants are on equal footing (though, granted, it's pretty presumptuous to judge that from an outsider's perspective). But when you're dealing with an asymmetrical situation—where one person is trying to maintain some semblance of decency while the other person refuses to watch their mouth—then yeah, I'm definitely in favor of shutting that kind of communication down...
