Just caught up on the first few posts here. I'm right there with Anthony Perez9 on this one.
Honestly, it’s a total disgrace that we even allow I. L.'s posts to stay up on this forum.
Even the biggest threads start out with I. L. posts to get things moving.

Main Thread: Christianity — 1,000 reasons why, 1,000 reasons why not (1 2 3 4 5 ...)

Is there any way to just wipe these disgusting posts full of hate speech off the board?

It’s been nine years since those posts were made—back when we were all debating the world trial...
In that time, public opinion has clearly shifted—and it isn't just the moderators or the site staff who have changed their minds. So, before we set a dangerous precedent where any user can dig up ancient history to demand deletions whenever they feel like it, I suggest the administrators step in and make a final call.

Well, they won't be around much longer anyway. That massive Christianity thread is hitting its 10k post limit soon, so we'll be moving on to Part 2 shortly. Once that happens, nobody will be hyperventilating over some old, controversial I. L. legend from back in the day (honestly, I find it hard to believe some people are only just now hearing about I. L.).😁

Chris Peterson53 suggested that the admins should weigh in, especially since we’re practically witnessing forum history right here. Personally? I wouldn't touch a thing. It was a different era back then. There isn't a single word in those old posts that doesn't make my hair stand on end—not to mention what they had to say about women... though that didn't stop me from reading Ivanov's unconventional work 😬. But for me, I wouldn't delete anything. I wouldn't mess with it. It feels like a lifetime ago; I almost miss those days when you could actually speak your mind without everything blowing up...

So, what’s the move now?
Are we actually going to turn into some kind of Ministry of Truth and start rewriting history?
I. L. was here, he wrote his piece, things happened the way they happened, and they ended exactly how they ended.
The mods have every right to move threads that are trending or refresh stuff with updated versions, but you can't just go changing things that actually took place—nor should you.
If nothing else, let it serve as a cautionary tale.
